Historic tower mill situated in the heart of South Norfolk, in the village of Old Buckenham. *Currently not open to public, during period of maintenance*
A sad day, seeing the stocks coming down. A necessary step though as the wood is severely rotting and the lamination is failing in places too where water is getting in.
Work continues to make the mill safe before we can start to move forwards again with restoration.
Still a few places available for runners in the Old Buckenham 10k Road Race on 9th June. All proceeds from the event go to the restoration fund for Old Buckenham Windmill. If you're not running, come along and support us! Tea and cake will be served. ☕️🍰 https://t.co/lPJ17hv63l

The scaffolding is down at #BillingfordMill and the tower repairs are now complete. Work continues on the cap ready for it to brought back later this year
Yesterday was a sad day - the fantail has become unsafe as it has shed some rotten timber - following a millwright survey we have been forced to remove it completely to prevent risk to nearby neighbours. The millwright will be back next week to complete the removal.
New #coastaltreasures signage from start to finish. From on the back of a van to looking lovely in the ground. More information on these walks coming soon..
We do need to execute some repair work before we can re-open to the public. That means that unfortunately we have to cancel both August and September open days. We'll just have to make sure we get everything sorted and come back better than ever for the beginning of next season!
When you reach the ripe old age of 200, sometimes you need a little bit of attention. We’re seeing some movement in the mill’s brickwork so we have taken the precautionary measure of closing while a survey takes place. We hope to re-open again soon and will post updates here.
For those interested in Norfolk Heritage, South Walsham Mill has an open day on Sunday July 22nd. The mill has been built by Norfolk birding legend Michael Seago's son Richard and is a masterpiece of construction. All proceeds will go to the Big C, Norfolk's Cancer Charity.
