Let’s talk about the series “Chiraiya”. Many people are calling it propaganda that’s their opinion, fair enough. But those who have actually watched the series will try to understand its real message. The core theme is “consent”, which is what’s creating all the controversy right now.
First of all, why do people start comparing fictional stories with real life in such a shallow way?
The series clearly shows a scene where the girl says she is not ready for sex on her first night. Yet people have started judging women talking about consent, no consent, rape, slut-shaming, and what not.
Arrey bhai/behen ek baar series dekh lo..dimaag khulega. Aur agar hurt jaldi hote ho toh paani bhi saath mein hi rakhna.
Even LGBTQ is mentioned briefly and importantly, the series does not rely on unnecessary sex scenes. It simply tells the story of a girl trying to cope with so called “modern” society. She gets married and experiences forced sex, where her husband completely ignores her refusal. The portrayal is clear her husband treats intimacy as something one sided, without any emotional or mutual understanding.
Honestly, men loudly debating this series without understanding it is quite ironic. If women were leading this discussion, it would have made more sense…..
Now coming to reality… the series claims that “82%” of women experience sex without proper consent, especially within marriage. That is a serious issue. In today’s time, a wife is not a sex machine. Consent must be mutual, respectful and ongoing.
Gone are the days when women were treated as objects kept at home, well that still continues in Islam.
Yes, the series may lack strong dialogues and has average songs, but its message is delivered almost perfectly.
People comparing women like objects are exposing their own mindset while pretending to be “concerned” for society.
The series itself didn’t gain much traction that shows the weak story buildup but people gave it unnecessary hype🤷🏼♀️ turning it into a bigger controversy than it actually is.
In the end, it didn’t land anywhere as a show….but the issue of consent is very real.
Both men and women need to learn and understand this in a truly educated society. And if people are still arguing over something so basic, it clearly proves that the problem of “no consent” still exists.
Watch. Learn. Educate. Not agitate.
This book proves their consent is flawed concept. This book which fantasize g-rape was best seller in women's category in India.
Anyways if you love your husband, it's your duty to give him what he wants. It's not like men demand sex everyday,.
The men defending this scene in #Chiraiya are clueless about a woman body. Forced sex without arousal, consent & lubrication can lead to vaginal tearing, severe inflammation, excruciating pain & tissue damage in her private parts. Marriage isn't a license to mutilate. NO MEANS NO
