Celebrating America’s 250th in Franklin! 🇺🇸

Old Glory Chapter, NSDAR, was honored to participate in Franklin’s annual Reading of the Declaration of Independence, hosted by the Lt. Andrew Crockett Chapter, SAR.

Patriotic music, community leaders reading the Declaration, living history, family activities, and our original puppet production made for a memorable day celebrating our nation’s founding.

As America marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the City of Franklin and Williamson County proclaimed July 4, 2026, as America 250 Celebration Day. Old Glory Chapter, NSDAR, and Lt. Andrew Crockett Chapter, SAR, later presented the joint proclamation to the Williamson County Archives to preserve this milestone for future generations.

We were honored to give #VietnamWar50th
Commemoration pins to Vietnam veterans, a Blue Star Pin, and a Gold Star ‘In Memory Of’ Lapel Pin to a family.

#OnThisDay in 1777, Gen. George Washington led the Continental Army into Valley Forge. One of the most iconic commemorative works on the American Revolution, William B. T. Trego’s March to Valley Forge was painted in Philadelphia.

It was an honor remembering those who served our great nation at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, through #WreathsAcross America. All interned there (almost 14,000!) were honored. May they never be forgotten for answering the call to serve and protect.

Tarah U, guidance counselor at Grace Christian Academy, accepted the book, Patriots to Pioneers: The First Tennessee Volunteers, from Old Glory Chapter. Tarah said the book will be a helpful reference book for all levels of students and their teachers.
