The last two one seeds that I remember getting beat this badly in the 2nd round were the 2018 Raptors and the 2020 Bucks. Both made major changes in the offseason and won a championship the next year. The Cavs need major changes, but the second apron makes that almost impossible

I’ll start by saying that I truly loved watching the core four and this team gave me some of my favorite memories as a Cavs fan, but I seriously doubt there are moves they can make that will make them a true contender. This team needs major changes to its core. I hope I’m wrong!

To explain why many of your proposed plans for the #Cavs offseason aren’t possible:

- No trade-viable draft picks until 2031
- In the second apron after the Mobley bonus
- Cannot trade by combining salaries; has to be 1-for-1 trades with matching money, which are pretty rare.
- No money to sign free agents except for minimums and the MLE

The team you saw now will most likely be the team you’ll see next season.

I love the play-in, but I’m going to continue to advocate for the idea that it’s only triggered if the teams are within 5 games of each other.

A 48-win team getting bounced by a 39-win team because of a single game wouldn’t be a good thing.
