@Terry314159 Anyway, I'm not that happy with this tagline anyway, so I'll be happy to change it when I think of a better one. Thanks for recommending Pythonista btw, and congrats on being the first to get Python running on iOS!
@Terry314159 Point taken. I'm not a native English speaker, but in my mind, being "the original" doesn't necessarily imply "first of its kind in any form". You could call the first iPhone "the original smartphone" in marketing, and there's some truth to it, though it's technically wrong…
In case you see a new Pythonista beta in TestFlight soon, just know that the way there has been paved with validation errors and automated rejection... 😬🐍
It is grimly hilarious to see this guy ripping up decades of American soft power projects while going “Wow!” and “Gawrsh!” at stuff he doesn’t understand. God only knows what the Russians or Iranians are making of the CIA getting absolutely hosed in public by an imbecile.
Here's the first demo of Pythonista Lab on YouTube: https://t.co/OCB1cAyYH0 🐍🧪 I've also made a basic website, so you can now sign up for the beta (coming soon): https://t.co/mUpzfO5Ai4
@MC_chibill Okay, yes, that's an iOS 12 issue. Should theoretically be fixed with the new beta, once that's approved by Apple. I haven't tested on iOS 12 recently, but this is definitely still on my radar.
I've posted the unblurred version of this on Bluesky, so if you're interested in a tiny little teaser of the future of Pythonista, you might want to follow me there. 🦋 More soon…
@danghuutuan06 To be honest, I have considered that, but decided that it would be too much work to support the hundreds of different keyboard layouts that are used around the world (even if I'd just consider the European ones). So I decided to limit it to qwerty.
Pythonista 3.4 is finally out on the App Store. 🥳 It comes with Python 3.10, updated modules (openai, pandas), and many new possibilities for iOS automation with Python actions in the Shortcuts app. 🐍

@orlandor734 I'm sorry. I'm just one person doing basically everything, and I do have projects and responsibilities outside of Pythonista, so I often can't support my app as well as I'd really like to. 😧
@Rebolicas I'm sorry. Another project got in the way, and Apple threw in some unexpected complications by rejecting the update. I'm hoping to get it out soon though, I don't want to contribute to old devices becoming useless.
@ilyamiskov Hard to say without trying it, but I'd guess that it's a lot longer than with existing headsets because you probably feel less isolated from your surroundings, and the display quality is also a lot higher.
This was one of the most interesting parts of the Vision Pro announcement for me. I do wonder if there are new permissions to enable experiences that actually require eye tracking, but it's smart to be very careful with that kind of eyeball data. Don't expect the same from Meta.
@nholzschuch My girlfriend had an iPhone 5s left in the drawer that I could use. I'd probably have bought a used iPad mini otherwise, they've become quite cheap (around 50€).
