During the recently concluded Jukwaa La Usalama public forums we promised to restructure and reinvigorate the National Administration to better serve the people of Kenya. We are committed to bringing services closer to wananchi through deliberate decentralisation and efficiency enhancement.
To improve service delivery to the residents, three subregions have been created in Nairobi. The creation of Nairobi North, Nairobi East, and Nairobi West Service Delivery Coordination Units has been made necessary by the high population of the capital city, now estimated at more than five million.
At the same time, the following officials, serving in the rank of County Commissioner, have been promoted and appointed to administer the
subregions:
1. Rose Wanjiru Chege - Nairobi West Sub Region
2. Patrick Simiyu Werre - Nairobi East Sub Region
3. Simon Odhiambo Osumba - Nairobi North Sub Region
The three will report to the Regional Commissioner, Nairobi Region.
As part of ongoing efforts to streamline operations within the National Government Administration we have further promoted and posted the following officers in the rank of County Commissioner:
1. Tana River-Joseph Mwangi Wamuti
2. Taita Taveta - Linda Adhiambo Okola
3. West Pokot David Ntawuasa Saruni
4. Kajiado - Michael K. Yator
5. Kericho - Jeremiah Mwai Gicheru
6. Vihiga -Peter Mwangi Maina
We have also transferred serving County commissioners to various new stations taking into consideration their strengths and experiences as we address the various security and service delivery concerns raised by wananchi during Jukwaa La Usalama public forums.
The changes take effect with immediate effect.
@MutahiNgunyi The saying is that there are no permanent enemies in politics, but I find it extremely hard to logically process how Ruto and Gachaqua can reconcile.

In great contrast to most of Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Somalia, southern Tanzania - especially Mbeya and Iringa regions - will get hit by heavy torrential rains. In the second week, the rains may get as far Dar-es-Salam.
