I was thinking about what was said in class on Tuesday & how we talked about antinatalism & how Shann & Austin (the younger generation) had a baby and that making total sense bc they're "kids" but what about Connie Brees? The adults should've known better right ? No? 🤔 #A525
This quote reminds me of the concept we spoke about in class Thursday about "starting over" post-apocalypse as opposed to trying to find a solution/ act on problems like global warming .. #a525
".. The teen didn’t want his sperm to be the sole genesis of a new race of mankind on Eden Five, because he did not want to be responsible for all the shitty things human beings are genetically driven to do: War, crucifixions, genocide, religion, television”(104) #A525
Not sure if any of you have had the chance to watch Jordan Peele's 'Us' yet but all I could think watching it is how great of an apocalyptic scenario it is & all of the different scenarios we've read about in class #A525
There are passages like "As the road west led east, I couldn't go forward without looking back, beginning at the end" that sound great when you read them but also have a negative/pessimistic vibe to them .. serves the title of the book well I guess #A525
This panel is like the staple apocalyptic "shit just hit the fan" for me. If people aren't fighting for food and excusing their lack of humanity with their need to survive is it really the apocalypse ? #A525
One of the things that stood out to me were the jabs taken at female characters like Robin and Yindel.. Yindel is underestimated because she's female and the dynamic between Batman and Robin also seems that way.. or it could be the fact that she's a kid I'm not sure. #A525
"The question of dying becomes a wise reminder. It cures us of our innocence of the future"
Jack's obsession w/death reminds me of people that are obsessed with the idea of the apocalypse bc you can't really prepare for either #A525
"Who will die first? This question comes up from time to time, like where are the car keys" is so creepy to me because it seems to show up in moments in which Jack & Babette seem pretty happy... yet here he is thinking about who is going to die first. #A525
"One evening, between commercials, a news sheep announced that things were being used up too fast. But nobody paid much attention" ...
The sheep:

After discussing parental roles in class, I'm curious as to what role Mr. Anderson is meant to play in the film. He encourages Charlie to participate & gives him love advice, which seem very paternal ? He's also the only person not leaving, like his friends/sister #TeenFilmSDSU
Maybe I'm reaching but I just interpreted it that way this time around. The shot where Bella exits the store makes it seem as if the person watching her is evil and she's in danger 🤔 and then it turns out to be Edward the whole time #TeenFilmSDSU
I remember watching Twilight when I was younger & just seeing it as a love story . NOW .. I'm just like 🤯 the scene in which Bella leaves the bookstore on her own & you know someone is following her I initially thought it was one of the evil vampires .. #TeenFilmSDSU
