@cathicks Ah, life drawing is so awesome. They even still got the same benches at the art studio. And now judging by this picture I'm thinking I've been sitting on them backwards :D
@SMOUSE_CG@umadatalien so I could see their temp renders and them bombard them with emails that the renders need to match my animation, so they ended up having to reduce the distortion in the glass.
@SMOUSE_CG@umadatalien I made sure to fit him completely behind the vase, so as the camera is panning, he's actually moving backwards a little to make sure he stays in place relative to the vase. I published my wip anim a few times as I was working, so the downstream could pick it up,
@DewEnjoyer No storyboards are a different department, it then goes into layout and they assemble the scene together, load in all the chars, props, environment, add some minimal anim so that we know where the character starts and ends in the shot, and this is what we get.
@SkugraD@umadatalien Yup. I scaled, translated and sculpted the hell out of him, and asked the lighting department to reduce the refractions in the vases so that it closer matched the animation. So most of the deformations inside the vases are model deformation, not refraction.
