Conservative estimates say that there are 40-100K Russian citizens who have come to live in Mariupol after occupation: including administration, private citizens who took mortgage or just bought real estate there.
Just imagine this:
- They killed around 100K civilians in Mariupol (estimates according to satellite imagery + morgue data – not possible to confirm while the city is occupied).
- Now they destroyed their graves (and previously just poured concrete over the bodies in the apartment buildings basements).
- They move in by THOUSANDS to live in the apartments of those dead people or those who cannot come back to confirm their property rights.
I just wish everyone could wrap their heads around these simple facts. Without any geopolitical points, grand ideas, and such. This is indeed THIS simple: people lived their lives, never attacked anyone, mostly spoke Russian, owned apartments and businesses and were generally happy with their lives. Russia took ALL of that away and either killed or virtually tortured the citizens into obedience, brainwashing their kids and substituting the Ukrainian population with Russians.
I have no freaking idea how anyone can support that. There is something deeply insect-like in it. Like a colony of ants moving into a neighboring ant house after killing its owners.
Attempts to reframe Russia's invasion as merely a squabble over "a few square kilometers of territory" is a rhetorical strategy meant to benefit the aggressor by trivializing Russia's exterminationist war aims and making Ukrainian resistance seem irrational and pointless.
You were not radicalized by Mariupol, by human safaris, by shelling of hospital for children with cancer, by destroying of Kakhovka dam or bombing of all the energy plants and leaving people in -15 without electricity, but ruzian occupant's death it's where you draw the line?
Russia is increasingly targeting civilian trains in Ukraine.
In response, Ukrainian railways now halt trains and evacuate passengers during air raid alerts, with people sometimes waiting hours before travel can safely resume.
"My father survived Russian captivity, but his heart gave out."
Ukrainian marine Oleksandr Savov died eight months after surviving nearly three years of Russian torture. Today marks one year since the release he did not live to commemorate.
🕯️ Russia struck an ambulance in Kharkiv region, killing two medics.
Doctor Dmytro Kolesnyk and emergency technician Oleh Zhuravlov were transporting wounded patients when the strike hit. Both had survived a previous FPV drone attack in the Kupiansk sector last month.
Trump last night: „We are helping NATO with Ukraine, so NATO should help the US to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.“
This is a lie. Trump suspended all help to Ukraine with his inauguration. Not a single cent is going to Ukraine. European countries are buying US weapons. This is not helping, this purchasing. When I buy my goods in a store, then the store is not „helping“, it is making business.
Trump threatened allies around the globe with invasion and denigrated them at every step, including fallen soldiers in Afghanistan. Putin on the other hand got a pass, received a warm welcome in Alaska and even got sanctions lifted.
Those are the facts.
A Russian Paralympian wins gold and openly dedicates the medal to Putin, speaking about the importance of “glorifying his country.” So praising a dictator and a man responsible for thousands of deaths on the Paralympic stage is somehow apolitical.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Paralympians were told they could not wear uniforms with the map of Ukraine because it would be “too political.”
This is exactly how the press should be reporting this story: “Orbán’s government robbed a Ukrainian state bank — then a Fidesz tabloid ran AI fakes to justify it.”
So, what actually happened?
An armored convoy belonging to the Ukrainian state bank Oschadbank was stopped in Hungary. Seven Ukrainian citizens were detained and the cash was confiscated.
Oschadbank is a Ukrainian state bank that has a legal license to transport cash across borders. In this case, the cash was being moved from Austria to Ukraine. This is routine banking logistics.
Ukrainian banks must regularly import foreign cash (dollars and euros) because Ukrainians buy far more foreign currency than they sell each month. Before the war, this cash often arrived by plane. With Ukrainian airspace closed, it now travels by land.
Every step of such operations is documented and monitored — the source of the money, the route, the insurance, and the banks involved. These are tightly regulated international financial procedures. You simply cannot move “corruption money” through such a system.
But, of course, this became a perfect opportunity for Orbán and russian propaganda to push false narratives. A disinformation campaign quickly followed, using AI-generated fake images of Ukrainian cash-in-transit guards. The images were published by Ripost, a tabloid controlled and funded by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party.
And people, incapable of critical thinking, eagerly helped spread the fake images and propaganda narratives — including the claim that the cash was “money laundering by Zelenskyy.”
But in reality, all that happened was this: Orbán’s government seized the funds of a Ukrainian state bank — and then a Fidesz tabloid published AI fakes to justify it.
Over the past few days, russian propaganda has been pushing false narratives, claiming that Ukrainian armored bank vehicles transporting cash through Hungary were involved in money laundering by Zelenskyy.
And, of course, people incapable of critical thinking bought into it.

A "second chance" only comes after someone's apologised and taken responsibility for their crimes.
After Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine and Syria, russia has done neither. All you've done is give a monstrous regime a global platform and amnesty for its crimes.
Disgraceful.
I am the Ukrainian skeleton racer who was wrongfully disqualified from the Olympics last month because of my “Memory Helmet.”
Tonight in Milano-Cortina, the Paralympic Games are opening. The Committee has bizarrely permitted Russian soldier-athletes to participate under the Russian flag.
The head of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) literally stated that they don’t care about what Russian soldiers did in Ukraine. The problem is that we do care.
They are killing Ukrainians on the battlefield, bombing our cities, and committing genocide. Now, with this step of allowing them to compete, the IPC is giving them the opportunity to continue committing genocide by spreading Russian narratives with Russian flags and symbols.
They try to manipulate the situation by pointing out that the movement started after World War II, but during World War II the Olympic Games were cancelled, and German athletes were not invited and did not take part in the Games until 1952.
It looks like the head of the IPC doesn’t know the history of the Olympic and Paralympic movement at all.
What a shame.
This whole story is just getting worse and worse.
By banning uniforms that depict Ukraine within its legal and internationally recognized borders, the IPC is de facto acknowledging fascist Russia's false and illegal claims to have annexed parts of Ukraine. The ban is thus a political act.
The IPC should stay out of politcs.
