Anti-semitism will not divide Los Angeles. We will fight it when it makes it through the light. We will fight it when it’s lurking in the shadows. As we have over the last couple weeks we will stand together and fight back against hateful rhetoric. That’s “what we know!”
LA is in the most volatile political season since 1992 & 2020. Impt report released by @StopAAPIHate. We stand w the rest of LA to DEMAND accountability & that no candidate for office EVEN THINK about using the AAPI community as a political weapon! Not now. Not again!
Tonight proved yet again that @KarenBassLA is the only real Democrat in this race who shares our values and has decades of proven record standing up for our communities. We are proud to support Bass, and we urge Angelenos to do the same this November. @LADemocrats
@ROchoaLabor@CA_Dem@DeepaSharmaEsq@ProgCaucusCDP I’m disappointed to see @CA_Dem leaders engaging in and condoning insensitive and despicable race-baiting against the AAPI community. This conduct has no place in CADEM and in our communities.
This past week, SCOTUS:
- erased the fundamental right to abortion
- restricted the ability of states to regulate guns
- restricted the ability of the Executive branch to regulate climate change
- dismantled the separation of church & state
We can’t afford to lose elections.
I was honored to join @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris to see my bill seeking to create the first national AAPI museum signed. This historic moment was a culmination of years of work & I'm proud to have championed this fight.
AAPI history is American history. https://t.co/3Ns1AsZAfl
NEW: Today, we’re releasing our newest report with @AARP, examining the hate incidents against Asian American elders.
What we learned: Nearly all of the elders who reported their experiences indicated that they believe the U.S. has become more physically dangerous for them. 🧵
Join @CA_Dem this evening to celebrate Eid and learn ways to engage/activate voters across our state. The past 24 hours shown our most basic civil rights are on the line. It is imperative now more than ever that we organize our communities because elections have consequences.
On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the victims and survivors of one of the darkest periods in our history. But it’s not enough to remember — we also need to have the courage to speak out against acts of bigotry and hatred whenever we see them.
Called the https://t.co/DxNoFkFCUH hotline and was told, "We are experiencing high call volumes and your estimated wait time is over two hours" after pressing 5 for #Cantonese. A hotline to order #COVID19 tests is great, but let's make it #accessible.
