I saw a post on Reddit that said that “The underlying purpose of AI is to allow wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth.” And I don’t think I’ve ever seen AI described so incisively.
the goal is to be like Dua Lipa (good at what she does, pursuing her passion, rich, well read, always travelling and exploring new cultures, fashionable, promoting the arts, multilingual, politically aware)
Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
Pope Leo XIV on AI:
“Artificial intelligence needs to be disarmed. The word [disarmed] is strong I know, but deliberately chosen because this moment needs words capable of attracting attention, awakening consciences, and indicating paths forward for humanity.”
what do you mean he taught himself to play right-handed guitar and now he can switch and he can play it upside down - is there anything this man can’t do 😭??????
I genuinely don’t believe anyone wants hyperpersonalized media. People YEARN for communal viewing. Barbenheimer. Game of Thrones. Heated Rivalry. Part of the thrill is other people experiencing it with us. We should be bringing back appointment tv and 90 day theatrical releases
