One of the best talks Iβve seen at #AOTB ever - talking inclusion, by talking about periods
Honest, vulnerable, powerful
Agile teams have *less* safety/comfort than non-agile teams in talking about periods
Lots of data, storytelling - do watch the recording
"Alerts Don't Suck. YOUR Alerts Suck!" and in this breakout session, Leon Adato will take us on "a tour of the alerting hall of horrors" and then provide real-world, vendor-agnostic techniques to make alerts meaningful, effective, valuable, and actionable.

"Black faces in high places are not going to save us ... Just look at the Black women's hand voting against a ceasefire in Gaza" β Professor Ruha Benjamin
"It's the biggest cycle of protest there has been of mass protest in British history but there has been a tiny number of arrests...there is not a single example on any of our demonstrations of any violent incident towards a bystander of any kind, whether a politician or anyone else."
@ChrisNineham speaking at today's Police & #Palestine Protests press conference in the HoC.
Children in Gaza are so hungry they are eating animal feed to stay alive.
This is what our political leaders have normalised with their silence.
A ceasefire is a basic demand to stop people dying β and should be made by anyone who believes in the equal value of human life.
Really looking forward to keynoting at Agile Manchester in May

Here is a conversation I had once with a child protection supervisor:
Social worker supervisor: The mother keeps lying to us about the domestic violence.
Me: It sounds like you are pretty angry at her for not telling you the truth about what's happening.
Social work supervisor: Yes I am because the child is in danger.
Me: Are you more angry at her for lying than you at the perpetrator for creating the danger in the first place?
Social work supervisor: *awkward silence*
We have trained an entire cohort of professionals to be angrier at domestic violence survivors than at the perpetrators of domestic violence. "Failure to protect" culture is real. It's a set of unwritten rules, practices and beliefs that direct practitioners to blame mothers who are survivors and ignore fathers who are perpetrating violence. This is unfair, inefficient, ineffective and unsafe. And we can do it better. #StopBlamingMothers #StopIgnoringFathers
