Some #InternationalMountainDay content for everyone to enjoy 🙂 the day hasn’t made me want to go to the mountains at all. Nope. Happy with London. Don’t want to go to any mountains.
It's weird (and wonderful!) to be saying this, but here it is....I've written a book, and it's coming out in April.
The Lost Paths, published by Penguin Michael Joseph, is an exploration and celebration of our ancient path network and a call to reclaim what has been lost.
The sun is out all day next Saturday, and I’m kicking off the @Team_BMC London & South East 2024 peak bagging walking series with this walk from Hackney Wick to the top of Hampstead Heath.
Come join me 🙂 details in event ⬇️⬇️

@PhoebeRSmith @DannyCarden @Right_2Roam Is the privatisation of public access, so not good! Although, interestingly, proves that all the arguments about wild camping being a problem for landowners is nonsense. The only issue was that they weren’t getting paid.

- One in six species is at risk of being lost from Great Britain
- 43% of all birds are at risk of extinction in the UK
- The UK now has less than half of its biodiversity remaining
- UK wildlife is continuing to decline
That's according to the State of Nature report for 2023 - a new landmark study published today.
The report has brought together experts from over 60 research and conservation organisations, using data collected by thousands of skilled volunteers, to provide a benchmark for the status of our wildlife.

For those interested in my large rubble pile… I smashed it up, dug a trench, filled it up and then used all the bricks I found to top it with this path.
A path that will one day weave between cherry, elder, raspberry and blueberry, taking you into the veg corner 🙂
