botw was a good game but it did something horrendous to game developers' brains where open world started beeing seen as a "technological advancement", a default thing you add because people like/expect it, and not an intentional authorial choice about the game experience
@wooswitchlaugh@VarsVerum Im learning to cook rn and i just started with youtube recipes trying to make foods i already like. And while making the recipes trying to understand the elements and what everything contributes to the dish if that makes sense. It helps to work in fast food as well
there actually isn't a way to play Pokemon Red in 2026 that isn't anti art. You have to play it in 1998 late at night while your parents drive with only passing streetlights lighting up the dim screen. If you even touch the game outside of that context, you're going to gamer hell
@bamisoffline@willieamejia@kuwimimi The point is that alot of people DONT enjoy some of the more time consuming elements in jrpgs which is why they use speedup. People rush through games because its more fun to them, especially after using up their patience in a long day of real world responsibilities
@luke_seahawk@kuwimimi Exactly, people who use speedup/candies in pokemon do it because they would rather push the limits of the battle system/ teambuilding systems rather than the time management or exp management systems
@Uiharu_no_Hana@345tommo@kuwimimi Most nuzlockers enjoy the challenge of the gyms and trainer battles, especially those who play rom hacks that make those harder
@GHShuffle@IJReviewss I think with pokemon specifically its interesting because the main appeal of the game is the team building and being able to use so many different pokemon, so anti-grinding tools like exp share, speedup, or rare candy hacks allow you to enjoy that aspect of the game more
@HakeemBilal10 Idk if you go to any populated gym there will be people tryna run 5v5 full court, usually ppl only play half to warmup, or bc of a lack of space or players
