School is almost out, this is a critical time of year for youth in our City. Along community partners and Toronto Police, we released our Summer Safety Plan that focuses on supporting young people through violence prevention and recreation programs.

✅Engaging 3,000 youth and over 500 families in summer safety programming

✅Investing an extra $5 million toward youth violence prevention and intervention programs

✅Increasing Parks and Recreation youth drop-in programming by 50%

✅Delivering more than 140 youth and family programs

Youth are involved in more than half of all firearm-related incidents, even though they make up less than a quarter of the city’s population. The City and our community partners are working to give young people more opportunity, reach them in challenging situations and conflict, and help them choose another path.

That's how we build safer and stronger communities, long term.

Our shelters are full, and thousands are on the waitlist for social housing. Today, I joined PARC and Councillor Gord Perks in Parkdale to break ground on new affordable, supportive housing. It’s a start, but there’s much more to do in 2025 and beyond.

It was good to sit down this morning with Lisa Helps, former Mayor of Victoria and executive lead for BC Builds at @BC_Housing.

British Columbia has made significant moves to build more homes and reduce costs. It was great to chat about what we can learn.

It's getting dark early, but that doesn't stop us from knocking on doors and chatting with neighbours in Willowdale.

It was "Housing Never," — but today, it's finally *Housing Now.*

After years of frustrating delay, today, we broke ground on this long-awaited @_CreateTO project to transform 8 acres of underused City-owned land next to Wilson TTC subway station into nearly 1,500 homes.

Side guards on heavy-duty vehicles save lives.

That's why the City of Toronto is installing this life-saving technology on all City-owned heavy-duty vehicles over the coming months.

I’m heartbroken to hear of John Horgan’s passing today. John was always working for all British Columbians and Canadians.

His fun-loving energy and positive attitude will be deeply missed in Canadian politics.

To tackle the housing crisis, we need innovative solutions.

All three levels of government and @dixon_hall have come together to help transform the former Bond Street Hotel into permanent affordable rental housing with services to help folks get back on their feet.

Today, we gather again to mark this solemn day of remembrance and reflection and to honour all those who have stepped up to serve Canada.

For over a century, the people of Toronto have come together at Old City Hall to pay tribute to the brave men and women who served, and those who gave their lives in service to Canada.

.@sunnybrook has evolved from its origin as Canada's largest veterans hospital into an internationally recognized health sciences centre.

Toronto is ready to build, but housing starts are down.

That’s why I’m pushing forward the new Rental Homes Incentive program, approved today by the Executive Committee, to add 7,000 homes by cutting charges and lowering taxes.

Every Halloween, the kids from the Hester How Early Learning Centre visit the mayor's and councillors' offices. It's a fun City Hall tradition.

For decades, we haven’t built enough rental homes. Today, that’s changing.

Today’s announcement will unlock 7,000 rental homes — including 1,400 deeply affordable units.

✅ Waiving development charges on rentals
✅ 15% property tax break

With support from provincial and federal governments, we can build 13,000 more. Partnership makes it possible!

Toronto needs more rental homes. Over the past decade, the majority of new rentals have been condo units.

By spurring the construction of more purpose-built rental homes, we can help more people find an affordable place to call home.
