Passing along the story of Ohio University's Normandy Park to my Foreign Correspondence class. Thank you, John Wilhelm, and the 30 other WWII correspondents who hallowed this ground in 1981. @scrippsjschool@ohiou@ScrippsOU
Kristan Hawkins, tonight’s keynote speaker, met with students and community members to discuss her abortion beliefs before her speech in Morton Hall at 6 p.m.
Dozens stopped to ask questions and engage in political conversation which appeared to be recorded for her social media.
Anti-abortion protesters have gathered outside of Schoonover Center and on College Green before the “Make Abortion Illegal Again” speech tonight at 6 p.m.
For those who don't know, I spent my summer interning at Cincinnati Public Radio! Not only have I learned so much about reporting from this incredible team, but it has also been surreal working with the people who inspired my journalism career in the first place. I am so grateful
Ohio Senator J.D. Vance addressed constituents in his hometown of Middletown Monday after being announced as Republican Nominee Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick. https://t.co/bYb5VQ8A4Y
@ThePost | Vance has concluded his rally in Middletown. I’ve spoken to several attendees who say his speech has encouraged or reaffirmed their support of the Trump/ Vance campaign.
@ThePost | Events are running behind schedule at the J.D Vance rally in Middletown, but the senator and vice presidential candidate made time to speak to supporters outside before his speech. The crowd has exceeded the capacity of the venue.
@ThePost | I’m hearing from attendees that the line began forming around 9 a.m. Many are frustrated with the lack of entry after more than 3 hours of waiting.
I heard from one couple as they were leaving the event that there is a lack of available water and shade.
@ThePost | Live from J.D Vance’s Middletown rally. Doors opened at 10:30 and the line is out of the parking lot and down the street. Police presence form Middletown and Trenton with lots of enthusiastic supporters vendors lining the entry way.
It’s so weird how my Black family that I was raised around my entire life is on the Hulu 1619 Project documentary series in more than one episode, and the doc is filmed in the Black community I was raised in and still go home to, and that anyone who follows me on social has seen my Black community in my hometown in my posts, and I live in a Black community now and have sent my daughter to Black schools her entire life, which has been publicly chronicled, and I am a tenured professor at Howard, but you right: I’ve never lived the Black experience because like most Black Americans I am part white. It becomes clearer and clearer that some of y’all are opps and just like King said, there are some Black folks who will go to the other side but we should not worry because every community has its opportunists.
