BREAKING: DYSTOPIA! ICE plans to spend up to $2 million of your tax dollars to purchase "robot dogs" to help their masked, lawless enforcers terrorize our communities.

This is like something straight out of a sci-fi film...

According to a new funding document in DHS’s Acquisition Planning Forecast System, they intend to spend between $1 million and $2 million on robots and accessories from Boston Dynamics. The robot canines — horrifying little techno creatures — are named "Spot" to try to make them more palatable to the general public.

While DHS insisted to NBC News that the robots will not be used to make arrests, we have no reason to believe a single thing that this administration says.

The funding document states that the robots will be used for "inspection, situational awareness, and hazard assessment in environments that may pose risks to personnel.”

“This capability helps improve officer safety, supports informed operational decision-making, and enhances DHS’s ability to respond to incidents involving dangerous, confined, unstable, or difficult-to-access areas,” the document adds.

But again, this is the Trump administration we're talking about. These people have demonstrated over and over again that they're bloodthirsty, cruel, and love nothing more than harming minority communities. It's only a matter of time before these super-strong mechanical hellhounds are tearing through the living rooms of innocent people and brutalizing migrants.

Game this plan out one step further. The Republican Party refuses to regulate artificial intelligence in any meaningful way. What happens when some bright young fascist suggests loading fully autonomous AI into these dogs? We've seen enough Terminator films to know how that story ends. We are barreling headfirst into a dangerous future and nobody in the White House cares enough to stop and consider the consequences.

For their part, Boston Dynamics has put out an ethics statement that claims it "will not authorize nor partner with those who wish to use our robots as weapons or autonomous targeting systems.”

“If our products are being used for harm, we will take appropriate measures to mitigate that misuse,” they added.

Of course, when it's the federal government and they're paying you millions of dollars, it's very easy to see how "appropriate measures" could end up meaning "turn a blind eye."

The simple truth here is that we cannot afford to risk it. ICE agents do not need more tools to carry out their soft ethnic cleansing agenda. The entire organization needs to be abolished and its criminal members prosecuted.

Tomorrow morning, NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is scheduled to take flight!

Weather officials with the U.S. Space Force’s Space Launch Delta 45 have predicted a 50% chance of favorable weather conditions for tomorrow morning’s launch, with the primary concern being the Cumulus Cloud Rule.

Named after NASA’s first chief astronomer, this next-generation observatory will set out to answer essential questions about dark energy, exoplanets, and astrophysics. With a field of view at least 100 times larger than Hubble’s, Roman could measure light from a billion galaxies in its lifetime!

The spacecraft itself is an impressive sight. Weighing over 20,000 lbs when fully fueled, Roman is over 42 feet long and more than 14 feet wide when fully deployed. Once in space, Roman will orbit roughly one million miles from Earth at the second Sun-Earth Lagrange point (L2), the same orbit as the James Webb Space Telescope.

At 7:26 a.m. EDT, Roman is set to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center. About 8 minutes after liftoff, listen for the double sonic booms as the two side boosters return to Landing Zones 2 and 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station!

Based here at Kennedy, NASA’s Launch Services Program (LSP) manages the Falcon Heavy launch service for this mission. Roman will be LSP’s 109th primary mission! Roman also marks LSP's 14th primary mission to fly with SpaceX, and 4th to be launched on a Falcon Heavy.
