Spare a thought for John Herdman today. Yes, yes, Dronegate.
But he brought this #CanMNT back to respectability, made them a competitive team, and gave debuts to a lot of key guys.
Nobody expected qualification in 2022, but that experience will be huge.

Felt like every time it was that line breaking pass from the central area which killed Czechia, like on the equaliser.
They never fully got to grips with Paik and Hwang in the middle playing on different lines. When one dropped one went higher at an angle to create passing lanes
Surprised with how open Czechia were last night, expected them to be a lot more compact than they were.
Rarely worked but they consistently pressed South Korea who had so much space between the lines and found lots of joy w line breaking passes to the front 3 in the half spaces

That’s one of maybe the only area Gordon is better than Rashford at. Out of possession and counter pressing he’s such a pest, you just know every single loose ball he’s gonna be all over you

Because of the heat, I think fitness levels and transitions will play an even bigger part than normal and more teams will sit off and look to utilise it. That should suit both of these sides.
Fwiw, I think a few underdogs will make at least the L16/QF's. Turkey and Ecuador also
I can’t wait to watch Japan and Switzerland this year, I think there’ll both make it to the QF's and be a joy to watch.
Especially Japan, their intensity and how lethal they are on the break will be scary. They'll be so compact and press like demons in the right moments

I find this whole Ben Stokes situation massively soft. Media and the ECB massively overreacting to it, really hope he doesn’t retire or lose his captaincy especially when him/Atkinson weren’t the aggressors.
Such a minor thing
Ez Abde is a brutal loss for Morocco. Was a vital player for them with his transitional threat and 1v1 ability and finishing, he was the game breaker for them.
I did have them as favourites to win their group and make a run to the QF’s but this will challenge them big time
