I joined my brother, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and his family in Iperu-Remo to celebrate the 90th birthday of his mother, Chief (Mrs.) Victoria Olaitan Abiodun.

Mama Abiodun’s life is a story of grace, service, and impact. As an educationist, businesswoman, and community leader, she has touched countless lives with kindness and dedication.

At 90, she remains an inspiration and a testament to God’s faithfulness and the power of a life well lived.

I wish her continued good health, joy, and peace.

At the Progressive Governors Forum meeting in Birnin Kebbi, my colleagues and I reflected on our country’s progress and renewed our shared commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

We also reviewed the economy, security, and reforms that are already improving lives across Nigeria. Our focus is to make growth inclusive, strengthen state economies, and bring development closer to the people.

TESCOM WELCOMES NEW PERMANENT SECRETARY IN GRAND STYLE

The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), today, welcome the newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Mr. Ojikutu Rafiu Olawale, to the office with a warm reception.

He was received by the Chairman of the Commission, Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, in the company of Board Members, Directors and staff of the Commission, who turned out in large numbers to welcome him.

In her welcome remarks, Mrs. Peregrino appreciated the Lagos State Government for finding Mr. Ojikutu worthy of the appointment as Permanent Secretary in the State Public Service. She congratulated him warmly and urged him to sustain the Commission’s enviable standards and culture of excellence.

She urged him to bring his wealth of knowledge and experiences gathered over the years in the public service to bear in the formulation of policies and ideas that will improve the service delivery of the Commission.

Welcoming the new Permanent Secretary, the Director, Administration and Human Resources, Mrs. Famakin Morenike, highlighted the Commission’s strong legacy of love, teamwork, innovation, and commitment to ensuring that the Commission excels in the delivery of its statutory responsibilities.

She congratulated the new Permanent Secretary and pledged the unwavering commitment of all officers toward the success of his tenure.

In his response, the new Permanent Secretary, Mr. Ojikutu Rafiu Olawale expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for the opportunity to serve. He also appreciated the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, for his continued guidance and encouragement in advancing the vision of the Lagos State Public Service.

 Mr Ojikutu charged all staff of the Commission to be proactive, creative, and solution-driven in discharging their duties.

He further admonished staff to shun all forms of practices capable of tarnishing the image of the Commission, emphasising that discipline and professionalism must remain the watchwords of all public officers.

The highlight of the short welcome ceremony was a symbolic presentation of letters of appointment to successful candidates who applied for teaching jobs in Lagos State.

The new Permanent Secretary, Mr. Ojikutu Olawale was accompanied to the Commission by the Permanent Secretary, Motor Vehicle Administration, Mr. Rasheed Muri-Okunola, top directors from the Motor Vehicle Administration and well-wishers.

The event marked a new and promising chapter for the Commission as it continues to strengthen its commitment to delivering quality services to teachers of post primary schools across Lagos State.
