PS: This tweet has nothing to do with the church.
It's just ironical how we chant these words together in love and then go on to gossip the very people we chanted them with.
What irritated me most about this conversation was hearing the word “privilege” thrown around in relation to women.
Women are still fighting for the most basic rights. We are disproportionately subjected to rape, domestic abuse, and femicide.
The Church should never become a hiding place for predators.
If someone has committed a crime, let the police investigate!
Let the courts do their job!
Let the Church support victims, cooperate fully with law enforcement, and stop treating accountability as persecution.
As a Christian man, you get no points for speaking about this Adefire situation. You’re doing the barest of the barest minimum as a Christian, but still repeating what women have been saying for years and quite frankly, it is medicine after death.
Sexual sin is fornication, masturbation or adultery.
All of which are consensual.
Rape is a crime.
Statutory rape (what you people call sleeping with a minor) is a crime.
A lot of you are housing abuse victims as disciples while being friends with their abusers under the guise of ministry brotherhood
You have no spine.
Selah
I loveee how straight women are no longer caring again and standing on business! Call us all the names in the world, we will not bend to your silly rules just to pander to you! Get away! You’re not the yardstick for “proper” feminism🖐🏾
Why exactly are you insisting that a rapist remains in active ministry ?
Is there something in the air?
I really hope the parties involved see this matter to the very end.
There are people in the prison who need to be ministered to, Adefire can be the Apostle sent to them.
Look at this fool, just look at this fool!
Your kind is raping and abusing women all in the name of “papa” and this is the rubbish that is coming out of your mouth??? Rape apologist🖐🏾
Some Christian brothers don’t want to acknowledge that they are battling with lust and lack self control, instead they put the blame on Christian sisters.
Again, I stand with my opinion that issues of sexual assault should not be settled in the church!
Church should hand it over to the authorities. It's a criminal offence and should be treated as such.
