Join us live with @svetlana_up, a Microbiome Scientist and our excellent mentor from @Bioconductor, in an hour.
Our guest will share her experience as an Outreachy mentor while highlighting the mentorship's impact on their project and community.

Next week, on February 5, I'll be sharing my experience mentoring with @outreachy. See you at ☕ chat!

P.S. Thanks to @Bioconductor, @cibiocm, @LeviWaldron1 and HUGE #BugSigDB community I have a lot to share.
The past two months got me exploring microbiome articles and curating signatures (microbiomes) from these articles.
I am happy to share that I have been accepted as an @outreachy intern with @Bioconductor; under the tutelage of @svetlana_up.
See here: https://t.co/Z4R2MrhoOP.
Thank you so much, @Bioconductor, @svetlana_up, and @Outreachy, for this incredible opportunity!
I am truly grateful to be part of this supportive and inspiring community.
I am so so excited and looking forward to an amazing internship experience.

I was suppose to be there on 1st Nov,2024. But sadly I didn't get the appointment @ItalyinPakistan. Despite getting a competitive fellowship and working on such a prestigious project of national interest. @EduMinistryPK is requested to intervene and help in this matter
We are thrilled to introduce 🎆 MicroTalks 🎆
- dynamic 5-minute live presentations
- followed by interactive Q&A sessions
- taking place just before the Keynote
IMPORTANT: We start 30 min earlier than usual!
My absolute favorite session from day 1 of the #BioC2024 conference☺️🥂
“Inclusive internships in genomic data science” by @svetlana_up 💛
I am so elated to be a contributor to
the #BugSigDB project for @Bioconductor 🤭
See you at #BioC2024 next week!
I will talk about our work with @outreachy applicants and their invaluable contributions to @Bioconductor projects.

What an interesting contribution phase @Bioconductor Congratulations @dat_scholar 👏🏾 and to every other applicant thank you for all your commitment and hard work! Don’t be discouraged, we try again next time! 😊
#Bioconductor team is happy to welcome
✨Scholastica Patrick Urua✨ @dat_scholar
as our May-August @outreachy intern!
My admiration goes to each of applicants with whom I’ve worked during March-April 2024 contribution period. You are all stars of open science!
Due to decreased funding, Outreachy had to make tough decisions about how many #internships we could fund.
Kindly donate to help us accept more interns in the future and keep our work going! https://t.co/tOBVtQ73dK

@svetlana_up@SEARCHER_JPIAMR @AlvSanMillan @UliKluemper Interesting to see how cigarettes smoke affect plasmid transfer. The lab smoke simulation def got my attention. Kudos to the team!
Insightful findings from the just concluded webinar!👏🏾 Provided more depth about plasmid transfer dynamics. Do these findings suggest that plasmid transfer might occur more frequently in the natural environments than previously thought?
Conclusion:
- Cigarette smoke condensate can promote AMR plasmid transfer in the lung
- Ash derived compounds can promote AMR plasmid transfer in the environment
- Exposure increase ROS production, a mechanistic driver underlying enhanced plasmid transfer under stress conditions
