Lagos and FCT went to LP because it is a cosmopolitan city with people of different religions and tribes.

However, the NC states are divided between Religion; they also take into account some level tribe in the sense that they do not usually align with the core North.

The rigging has definitely marred this presidential election.

It would probably eclipse the rigging in 2007.

However, it baffles me that many still do not believe that tribalism and ( + religion) is the bedrock of Nigerian politics.

APC is riding on the power of Muslim VP, incumbency at state level, and SW.

We may not like it but that APCs strategy is ruthless.

As for the election malpractice, that is for the courts to decide. It can't and will never be decided by protests and INEC will not cancel the elections.

@PoojaMedia LP and NNPP can no longer win outrightly because they can no longer meet the 25% votes in 24+1 states. The only hope here is if they win the total votes in the country and force a rerun which is very unlikely based on trend.

Only the courts now can overturn any results.

What is next for LP?

1. Push for a rerun by getting the highest number of votes; this is highly unlikely based on the numbers coming from the North.

2. Go to the election tribunal and prove that they have won otherwise.

Technically LP can no longer win the Presidency outrightly, as they have already failed to get more than 25% of the votes in more than 12 states, so have failed to meet the second criteria.

The presidential elections will be determined by how much votes APC loses to PDP and NNPP in the North and how much votes PDP loses to LP in the South.

Of course, there is still the election tribunal which can turn the results on its head...this election sha!

To win elections in Nigeria, you need to field strong candidates across regions.

There is a reason why the Constitution says that you need to win the highest votes and a minimum of 25% of 24+1 states to be declared the outright winner.

Looking at the confirmed results by INEC, it is clear that LP cannot get 25% in 24+1 states; however, there is the possibility for a runoff if they win the overall total votes which is highly unlikely when you consider the remaining Northern bloc.
