@Playm8z They had boarding schools for indigenous Canadian kids. They took them away from their families and locked them in the schools to 'civilize' them. Many children died in these concentration camps.
@DavidOn03782874@ZadockOkot24919@DanstanOmari_@AokoOtieno_ I'm not disputing the advantages of having cctv for security. My point is what Danstan Omari said. Cctv in students dorms is a violation of their right to privacy. Nobody wants a camera in their bedroom being viewed by people they've not given constent. That's the point.
@DavidOn03782874@AokoOtieno_@ZadockOkot24919@DanstanOmari_ You can't enforce security on citizens, let alone minors, by violating their rights. The fact that the cctv recorded the arson doesn't mean it was right for it to record whatever goes on in a high school girls' dorm 24/7. So many schools are secure without these cameras.
@AokoOtieno_@DavidOn03782874@ZadockOkot24919@DanstanOmari_ Exactly. It is absurd that the school allowed extreme measures, including locking doors and installing cctv to tighten security that ultimately failed horibly. That's prison. Those kids deserve what's coming to them. But the adults in charge should also give so many answers.
@DavidOn03782874@ZadockOkot24919@DanstanOmari_@AokoOtieno_ I'm not a lawyer, but I could still argue that the whole school should be a safe and secure environment in the first place. Even without the cameras. How do you weigh the responsibilities of keeping students safe from potential data leaks against the risk prevented by CCTV?
@randomworldke Have you ever asked yourself why don't need a licence to open a church but you need over 101 one license to open and operate a business??? Because the govt uses religion to keep you in the box and not look at the bigger picture and demand change or even kill the oppressor
@bobtweets_ Short answer. No. Mois judiciary was far from independent. It was a rubber stamp institution like today's parliament. You will note Moi lost cases worth billions once he left office. When Kibaki took over a lot but not enough stolen public property was returned.
@bobtweets_@_num4 If the sales were tainted by illigalities and corruption because, of course, they are, they are reversible. It would be upto the buyers to show that they acted with clean hands. If they can't prove this not only are they losing any money invested, they're going to jail.
@AokoOtieno_ I think you are lovely to look at. I feel self-censorship is the beginning of the end of democracy. Freedom of speech and expression are inalienable. In my opinion it would be better if we all talked. They can't arrest us all. An jakisumo. Nairobi taxis are a rare experience.
@gacikiraMD Also. He owes us nothing. How a medical doctor is stumped by basic constitutional theory is further proof that degrees are not a measure of intelligence.
