@no_me_jodar Many people thought he would reach another final. Why not? Everyone knows he just needed one or two things to fall his way. This time he had 5 or 10 things fall his way.
@shaptennispod Haha I guess you didn't. Would've thiught a hard-core tennis fan like yourself would have read an autobiography by one of the big three. It's a great book.
@jmgmoron@PuntoDBreak I'm enjoying all your tweets about tennis and all the information... are you sure Puert's version is the truth and not ADF's? You framed it as such
@TennisDummies Maybe you're not old enough to remember that for many years people didn’t appreciate Rafa at the French open because he was too dominant.
Many only started to love him there once they realized he was near the end.
@jmgmoron Twitter has gone completely downhill since that moron bought it and attempted to change its name. You know a rebrand hasn't worked and was a poor idea when more than three quarters of the population still use the old name 3 years later
Cybulski would be proud of the Thank you Jim vibes.
Foote was hired to try to convince Hughes to stay. And to make the team competitive and get back to where they were a couple years ago.
So... thank you for failing as badly as a person could?
Thank you Adam Foote, Scott Young, Kevin Dean, and Brett McLean for everything you gave to the Vancouver Canucks. We are grateful for your leadership and dedication.
On Halford and Brough this morning, Dhaliwal said Gold wanted to bring in his own staff and also increase spending in some departments... maybe no formal offer but this stopped him from being hired.
Which flies in the face of the story that the Sedins flat out chose Johnson?
Things I found interesting from Canucks' presser announcing the new management team with the Sedins and Johnson:
1. Johnson already convinced me he is a thoughtful, inspiring leader. People will follow him and want to go to war with him. I really like him already.
2. Francesco said the Sedins made the choice between Gold and Johnson. In the Sedins' own telling of the story, they corroborated.
So all this talk of Gold being Vancouver's first choice, lowballing him, other rumours... it sounds like they chose Johnson and it's that simple.
3. If Francesco/ownership really puts these guys in charge of the rebuild and backs off, IMO, many Canucks fans will sign up to be along for the ride, however long.
I'm in, and I've been checked out as I saw stupid decision after stupid decision for years upon years.
