a space for omar rudberg fans to have respectful discussions without getting attacked for having an opinion. constructive debate is welcome, hate is not ✋
@edmrbeauty agree but basic things like him only getting a working website recently and it still not linking to his merch? fans updating his wikipedia because it hadn’t been touched in years? spotify not having all his tour dates? these are the job of a label and it’s valid to discuss it.
@edmrbeauty i said this before in reply to someone else but it shouldn’t be a choice between his label caring and promoting. of course being cared about is the most important but that shouldn’t stop them promoting him properly.
@dixbe_ /gen why? i’m an immigrant in my country who gave an example of why the phrase is toxic based on my own experience of being told that many times. you don’t have to like or agree with everything about the people and places you love. not all criticism is hate. that was my point.
@jvaistassommer /gen what do you find problematic? i’m not pretending anything. there’s a big difference between nasty hate + genuine fans giving respectfully critical opinions of his record label. not all negative opinions = hate. it’s healthy for people to disagree + have different opinions.
@ali__red /gen can you explain what i’ve said thats trolling? i’m literally an immigrant in my country + used an example from my own experience to make a point about a toxic phrase. my biggest crime is wanting omar’s label to promote him better and wanting respectful discussion with fans?
THIS is omar receiving nasty hate. THIS is disrespectful negative attacks from people who aren’t fans.
some people really can’t see a difference between racial slurs + vulgar insults and fans saying “hey we love you but think your label could be promoting you even better”??
The nerve of this rat. Omar is not your fucking monkey to tell him to work ??? And then you are posting about Edmar and asking Edmar content while you trash Omar ???? Where are the big defenders of Edvin they never defend Omar @ this rat I want to see
@schelluminium thank you! i really appreciate that. i’m being called a troll and hater when i’m genuinely just trying to have honest and respectful conversations.
as consumers, fans have valid opinions on the product being sold to us and the way it’s being sold.
we’re also expected to do 90% of the promo so we know what will make us share and buy and care…
and sometimes we know that more than out of touch music execs in a boardroom…
@happilyomar@Caddue If you only knew how this whole industry works… And for me it’s going very good compared to artists who aren’t even allowed to put out their own music. It’s a whole world, and I’m really thankful for TEN. They really care about me not only as an artist but as a human♥️
@schelluminium that’s fine, you’re definitely allowed to not like it but it also doesn’t make it untrue. but i respect your opinion and appreciate you engaging with me respectfully!
he’s said he wants to be a huge global star and sell out stadiums and as fans we want to see him live his dreams.
we’re worried he won’t get there without enough promo. if he’s happy with the amount they’re doing that’s great, but it’s unlikely to get him where he wants to be.
@schelluminium i hear you and it’s hard with creative industries bcs there’s the creative + business sides. but i don’t think most people are critiquing the art. they’re criticizing the label for things like not having a working website until recently + it still doesn’t link to his merch page.
@jiminthispark i agree but I don’t think most people are doing that. we’re not talking about the art he puts out, we’re talking about things like the organization and promo strategy of his label. for example he only got a working website recently and it still doesn’t link to his merch site.
@jiminthispark it’s the music INDUSTRY. labels are not just in the business for love and art, they’re primary in it to make money and THEY view artists as a product + fans as consumers. labels have marketing, legal + finance departments. that’s not controversial or problematic to say.
@jiminthispark you said it’s his business (it is) and fans are consuming his content (we are). i think fans making the distinction between personal and professional is healthy to have those boundaries to avoid extreme parasocialism. i can love the person and have opinions on the brand.
@jiminthispark i respect that but i think it’s problematic to categorize “good” and “bad” fans and make the distinction as ones who agree with everything. we all want the best for him we just have different opinions on how to achieve that. doesn’t make us “bad” or “disrespectful” fans.
@jiminthispark yeah I get why he’s protective but exactly as you said, we’re consumers of a product so we do have the right to an opinion on the way it’s being sold to us and the company selling it like we would any company or product.
@saknarhurduror please don’t assume. im an immigrant to my country and have been told that many times which is why it immediately came to my mind so im not out of touch. ive lived it and i know how hurtful it is to feel like i cant say anything bad or im ungrateful and should leave.
@jiminthispark they just said “i hope one day omar leaves his label like Zara did” they didn’t hate or involve him directly. he chose to respond which is his right but it’s clear he also doesn’t want people taking it up with his label directly either bcs he feels loyal + protective to them.
