Struggling film grad, occasional writer, subpar poster. Currently rewatching Bad Batch, behind on my High Republic reading list. Has friends everywhere.
Everyone at Lucasfilm was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Marcia Lucas. One of three Oscar-winning editors who worked on Star Wars: A New Hope, she also contributed to American Graffiti, among other early Lucasfilm productions. We join the global filmmaking community in mourning her loss.

Rian is 100% right too. If Luke had delivered Yoda his lightsaber from the Clone Wars in Empire, Yoda would've bonked him on the head with it and thrown it in the swamp.
is it the best movie ever? no. did i have fun watching it? yes. do i have critiques of it? yes. do i have positive things to say about it? yes. can we please for the love of god find a middle ground here where we don't accuse everyone of being toxically positive or negative
for all of the pejorative comments about so-called theme park movies, mando and grogu is a rare film which would’ve been better if it had leaned even further into the vibes of an animatronic-heavy dark ride at a disney park
with that being said, there’s a fair amount of this movie that doesn’t really work for me — I’m not gonna yuck anyone’s yum, everyone grades on their own curve and whatnot — but imo even as *just* a fun summer movie, much of what’s here is worthy of criticism
mando and grogu: I had a decent amount of fun! there’s some cool art design on show, and one truly lovely sequence in the back half that gave me the feeling of star wars magic I’ve missed seeing on the big screen
My personal favorite example. This Imperial working on the damaged Rebel comms could have just recited the information the characters in the scene needed normally but instead she was written to nerd out a bit about the rebel setup. Gives her character and makes for a funny moment
