IPOB Netherlands Chapter has declared total and unwavering support for the Directorate of State (DOS) led by Mazi Chika Edoziem.

In a strongly worded public memo, National Coordinator Mazi E. Ahuchaogu reaffirmed loyalty to the current leadership, rejected all declarations and appointments made from Sokoto Correctional Centre, and backed the suspension of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as Supreme Leader and Director of Radio Biafra.

The chapter also endorsed the ongoing institutionalisation of IPOB for greater efficiency and accountability, declaring: “We are out to Restore Biafra. ”A powerful message of unity and discipline from the diaspora.

1. Were those who defended that distinction unfairly criticised at the time including myself?
2. Are they being criticised and attacked still?
3. Did the failure of many observers to recognise the separation contribute to public confusion about responsibility for violent acts?
4. How should that historical record now be understood?

IPOB Spain Rejects Nnamdi Kanu’s Directives from Prison, Pledges Loyalty to Existing Directorate of State (DOS)

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Spain chapter has thrown its weight behind the Directorate of State (DOS) of the Indigenous People of Biafra, firmly rejecting directives issued by detained suspended leader Nnamdi Kanu from Sokoto prison.

In a strongly worded statement released, IPOB Spain declared its complete rejection of Kanu’s attempt to dissolve the existing Directorate of State and replace it with a new structure composed of individuals they say are not members of the organization.

“We, the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Spain, stand in solidarity with the already existing authority of the Directorate of the State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (DOS),” the statement reads.

The Spain chapter described Nnamdi Kanu as “formerly occupying the office of the leader and director of Radio Biafra, now suspended,” and stated that it would continue to take directives exclusively from the DOS, which has managed the movement’s affairs since Kanu’s abduction and subsequent detention.

The chapter aligned itself with the broader suspension of Kanu’s offices by the DOS leadership, emphasizing that IPOB Spain would be governed through established institutions operating under defined constitutional authority.

“IPOB Spain rejects individual leadership that lacks constitutional foundation,” the statement continued. “We align with the global position that authority within the movement must be collective, institutionally distributed, and grounded in constitutional governance.”

The Spain chapter further stressed the need for proper institutionalization of IPOB, insisting that authority must be exercised according to established procedures and remain subject to accountability. It described the struggle for Biafra’s self-determination as a “collective undertaking” that “cannot be subject to private control or family affairs.”

IPOB Spain concluded by reaffirming its unwavering loyalty to the existing Directorate of State.

The statement was signed by Mazi Chiemeka O. Ihezie, National Coordinator of IPOB Spain.

IPOB Spain’s position reflects a growing emphasis among many diaspora chapter on constitutional governance and institutional continuity over personal or familial control.

The statement comes amid ongoing debates about leadership legitimacy within the movement as it pushes for the independence of Biafra from Nigeria.
