Deposed PUK co-leader, Lahur Sheikh Jangi, plans to run in local elections in Kirkuk and other disputed areas, separate from the PUK. He's publicly inviting other parties to form a coalition, while PUK's Bafel Talabani aims to thwart these efforts.

Given the existing political climate in the Kurdistan Region, such efforts are likely to prove futile. This could potentially result in an even more fragmented Kurdish representation in the forthcoming elections, scheduled for December.
