Hi Twitterverse! Today I became Dr. Omar Mesina! As a first gen, formerly undocumented, queer & latinx now MD, it does not escape me I will now have access to seats at many tables. Thankful to all who came before me. Grateful to get to serve my community! #UCSFgrads#medtwitter
This passage from Michelle Obama:
"I hope you'll forgive me if I'm a little frustrated that some of us are choosing to ignore Donald Trump's gross incompetence while asking Kamala to dazzle us at every turn. I hope that you'll forgive me if I'm a little angry that we are indifferent to his erratic behavior. His obvious mental decline. His history as a convicted felon. A known slumlord. A predator found liable for sexual abuse. All of this while we pick apart Kamala's answers from interviews that he doesn't even have the courage to do, y'all."
undocumented migrants are stealing your jobs, your welfare AND your houses. they're also doing all the crimes. this is the republican platform. its objectively untrue and also insane.
Representation matters, especially in the medical field. We need more Latino physicians, and today, we celebrate the National Hispanic Heritage Month and the Hispanic Physician Day. Your contributions and dedication to the healthcare industry are invaluable. Keep inspiring and making a difference in the lives of many! #HispanicPhysicianDay #HispanicHeritageMonth
Happy National Latino Physician Day!!
To every Latino out there aspiring to wear a white coat, don’t let anyone or anything convince you that you’re not enough. You belong in these spaces, and we need you here. 6% is not enough!

Hispanic Heritage Month is a reminder of why I went into medicine.
As a proud son of Mexican immigrants, my early exposure to medicine was being my parents’ interpreter for any clinic/hospital visits. The lack of physicians that didn’t look or speak like us motivated me. 1/
Can I just step back for a second and say that it is RIDICULOUS that we live in a "democracy" where Kamala Harris is going to clearly, overwhelmingly, win the popular vote... and yet that doesn't matter in the slightest and everybody just blithely accepts that it doesn't matter.
I am board-certified OB/GYN and I hope you’ll read the Care Post-Roe Study, documentation from 86 of our colleagues who describe poor-quality care due to the need to comply with new laws since the Dobbs decision. These laws are hindering and delaying care.

As a Gyn surgeon who works in a women’s hospital, I am generally surrounded by women.
But yesterday, I had a male fellow, med student, and scrub tech. They defined masculinity: secure, empathetic, confident, and deeply committed to validating women. We need more BrO-B Gyns!
Demonizing immigrants is one of the oldest and most disgraceful political acts, intended to distract and divide us—and it’s dangerous. The Haitian community makes our nation greater, and we all deserve so much better than Donald Trump’s hate and lies.
I didn’t speak a single word of English when I started 3rd grade in the USA. Next week, I start a new job as an Attending OBGYN after many years of medical training.
The fact this race is still dangerously close is unfathomable.
Donald Trump’s racist remarks about immigrants during today’s Moms for Liberty meeting: “Our country is being poisoned … they’re going into the classrooms and taking disease, and they don’t even speak English. It’s crazy.”
I wrote this a few months ago and was worried I got a lil too personal. but yesterday a friend thanked me for writing it and said she still shares it, so I’m leaving it here. #FirstGen https://t.co/iiSGPfxVJF
Hillary Clinton ends her DNC speech: "I want my grandchildren and their grandchildren to know that I was here at this moment. That we were here. And that we were with Kamala every step of the way. This is our time. This is when we stand up. This is when we break through."
