Repetition doesn't make a lie true.
Yet re-escalating fakes resurface over and over — season after season, year after year.
In today's OUT OF FAKES episode, GFCN expert @ChrisHelali reveals why these fakes persist and how fact-checkers fight back.

Propaganda is like a butterfly's wings: bright, distracting, and designed to evoke emotion. 🦋
To find the truth, we must look past the noise to the hidden "head" of the conflict. GFCN VP Daniil Bisslinger and MEP Michael von der Schulenburg discuss why rigorous #FactChecking is our best defense against media manipulation.

🎨 AI ART & VISUALS ROUNDUP — June 16, 2026
1️⃣ AGNES-2.0-FLASH: FREE TEXT, IMAGE AND VIDEO GENERATION IN ONE PLATFORM
A new multimodal stack called agnes-2.0-flash is gaining attention for offering text, image, and video generation under a single free platform — no subscriptions, no credit cards required. While tools like Midjourney and Runway each handle one modality well, this all-in-one approach could lower the barrier for creators who need multiple AI generation types without managing separate bills. Early demos suggest it targets the hobbyist and rapid-prototyping crowd rather than professional studios.
@israfill
2️⃣ SEEDANCE 2 CONSISTENCY FIX: TEMPLATE TO STOP REPETITIVE SHOTS IN AI VIDEO
One of the most frustrating issues with short-form AI video is the tendency for the model to repeat the same camera angles and shots from the reference environment. A creator shared a practical workaround: a ChatGPT prompt template that generates varied scene descriptions from a single reference image, which are then fed into Seedance 2 for more dynamic outputs. It's a clever use of LLMs as a pre-processing step to inject diversity into video generation pipelines.
@AleRVG
3️⃣ AI DEEPFAKE DETECTION: VIRAL BUNGEE JUMP CRASH VIDEO EXPOSED
The Global Fact-Checking Network analyzed a viral 15-second clip showing a man crashing during a bungee jump and confirmed it is AI-generated. Key giveaways include the body partially phasing out before impact, an unnaturally smooth dust cloud, and the clip matching the standard generation length of current AI video models. As AI video quality improves, these kinds of forensic breakdowns will become increasingly important for media literacy.
@GFCNofficial
4️⃣ ADOBE'S 2026 CREATORS' REPORT: 75% USE AI BUT MOST STILL NEED HEAVY EDITING
Adobe's latest Creators' Report reveals that 75% of creators now consider AI integrated or essential to their workflow. However, 57% say their AI-generated outputs still require moderate to extensive editing before they're ready to share. The gap between AI-generated raw output and publication-ready content remains significant, suggesting that AI is augmenting creative work rather than replacing the post-production phase.
@TeksCreate
5️⃣ MIDJOURNEY 8.1 STYLE REFERENCE: RETRO-JAPANESE POSTER WORKFLOW
A creator demonstrated Midjourney 8.1's Style Reference feature by generating a retro-Japanese poster with clean shapes, bright colors, and kawaii characters. The prompt uses the --sref parameter with two reference image IDs, along with --sw 500 for style weight and --stylize 800 for creative freedom. Style Reference remains one of Midjourney's most powerful tools for maintaining consistent aesthetics across multiple generations without retraining.
@dogan_k_
6️⃣ RUNWAY GEN-4: CONSISTENT CHARACTERS, CAMERA CONTROL AND NATIVE AUDIO
Runway's Gen-4 model, released in May 2026, brings several professional-grade features to AI video generation. Key upgrades include consistent characters across different scenes, precise camera motion controls, native audio generation built directly into the model, and a Gen-4 Turbo mode for faster prototyping. These features push AI video closer to a viable production workflow for independent filmmakers and content creators.
@ForsenYu26584
💭 The AI creative tooling landscape is evolving rapidly from single-purpose generators into integrated ecosystems. Whether it's Adobe baking AI into existing workflows, agnes offering a free all-in-one stack, or Runway adding native audio to video generation — the trend is clear: isolation is out, integration is in. The remaining challenge isn't generation quality anymore, but consistency, post-production, and honest attribution.

#FactСheck The viral video of a heavy-set man crashing during a bungee jump is an AI-deepfake.
1. Visual artifacts give it away.
The 15-second clip is a standard generation length. Look closely:
• the body partially phases out before impact;
• the dust cloud is unnaturally flat and over-saturated;
• the body is not where it hit after the dust clears — it's misaligned, larger in scale, and there's zero blood at the impact point.
2. It's been circulating since 2025.
This isn't new. The same footage was posted over a year ago.
3. It's part of a short-video trend.
"Fatal bungee fails" are a recurring AI-generated theme. Multiple creators have posted similar stylized clips of a "fat man falling".

🚨 Viral Photos of World Leaders Meeting Extraterrestrials Are AI-Generated
Images online claim to show US President Donald Trump and leaders such as Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un holding secret meetings with humanoid aliens.
The rumor spread widely after a satirical @JonStewartIL post suggesting Trump briefly uploaded and deleted one of the photos, gaining 15 million views and fueling conspiracy theories.
Our analysis confirms these claims are entirely false and the images are fabricated.
The evidence is as follows:
- AI detectors have verified that all associated images were created using artificial intelligence.
- There are no official White House records, archives, or credible news reports confirming such a meeting occurred or that the US President ever published and deleted such a photograph.
- Visual inconsistencies expose the generative nature of the images. The uniforms worn by the extraterrestrial figures vary significantly between the photos, with details such as epaulettes appearing and disappearing randomly.
These photographs do not reflect real events and are part of an AI-generated hoax.

#FactCheck: Belfast knife attack fake news
❌ Claim: Attacker is Somali.
✅ FALSE. Suspect is Sudanese — Hadi Alodi, 30. Charged with attempted murder. PSNI initially said Somali but later corrected. He has UK refugee status (2023).
❌ Claim: Graphic photo shows victim Stephen Ogilvie in hospital.
✅ FALSE. @PoliceServiceNI confirmed circulating images are not related to the attack and are being shared to incite fear. The victim’s family explicitly asked for privacy — do not spread photos. The victim lost his left eye, yet the viral photo shows it largely undamaged. No evidence ties the image to Ogilvie.
❌ Claim: Stephen Ogilvie has died — family said "his death shouldn't be used for violent protests."
✅ FALSE. Family statement says he is recovering — "Our only priority is to be by his side & help him recover." They condemn riots and say don't exploit this tragedy.
❌ Claim: Video shows a man provoking a crowd in Belfast.
✅ FALSE. The video was filmed on Buchanan Street, Glasgow — not Belfast. Visible landmarks include Pizza Сrolla sign (red and white, bottom right) and St. George's Tron church (left). Commenters on the original clip on TikTok confirmed it's Glasgow. Protests did occur in Glasgow over the incident, but this footage is being mislabelled.
Out of respect for the victim and his family, please do not share unverified images or false claims.
