Why do so many people want to convince us to start trusting in our works/obedience for heaven?
To bring us into a yoke of slavery.
“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)
@BasedFrosch@ShitpostRock2 You may misunderstand meaning of omniscient. It doesn’t contradict free will. God knowing your free choice in advance is like me knowing you’ll reject everything I’ve said, doesn’t mean I forced you to. Foreknowledge isn’t causation. Real freedom and perfect knowledge can coexist
@BasedFrosch@ShitpostRock2 There very well could be. and I see your point. Pain often hardens us against a God we claim not to believe in or reject. I’ve been there man. Miserable, angry, and full of hatred toward Him but
He met me in that darkness anyway. He’s not the problem. The refusal to let Him in is
@BasedFrosch@ShitpostRock2 He already did, by entering our suffering Himself, dying to defeat sin and death at their root. The cross was the deepest possible response to evil. Instantly forcing an end to all suffering requires removing free will, very thing that makes love, goodness, and moral choice real.
You're right bro, Christianity brainwashed me. I want to spend the rest of my life with one person, pray for those who hate me, forgive easily, raise a beautiful family, stay away from gossip, and find true purpose in Jesus.
I am a guy who got into ancient aliens, realized it was bullshit, started studying real Sumerian, Akkadian and Babylonian mythology and ended up coming full circle to the real truth…and that truth is Christianity. No not “Judaism” or Islam, I am talking about the real truth!
this is exactly what it looks like when the world look at us and think we are exactly like them, but if you have Eternal Life in Christ Jesus you’re not of this world.
When you realize that Jesus fed 5,000, but only 500 followed him after the meal. He had 12 disciples, but only 3 went farther into the garden, and only 1 stood by him at the cross. The closer you get to the cross, the smaller the crowd becomes.
God will literally sit you down and break you to humble you, then will isolate you to build you. Then God will give you back everything far beyond what you lost to prove to you God is real and that everything is for a reason. Keep your trust in God.
