In a recent interview with News18 Odia, Subroto Bagchi shared a deeply personal decision when asked about his donations.

He said, “We have two daughters, and they told us they don’t want to inherit our money.”

That inspired Subroto Bagchi and his wife, Susmita Bagchi, to dedicate most of their wealth to the service of society.

Their major contributions till date:

> Rs 340 crore for the Cancer Super Speciality Hospital & Palliative Care in Bhubaneswar.
> Rs 212.5 crore for an 800-bed multi-speciality hospital at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.
> Rs 55 crore to establish the Bagchi School of Public Health at Ahmedabad University.

What makes the story even more remarkable is that Subroto Bagchi still doesn’t own a car and continues to travel in hired vehicles.

A legacy built not on possessions, but on purpose.

I arrived in Amman, Jordan, to participate in an important meeting at JIFCO along with Shri Dileep Sanghani Ji, Chairman, IFFCO, and other senior officials. At IFFCO, we remain committed to strengthening our global partnerships and ensuring the uninterrupted availability of high-quality fertilisers to support the agricultural community and contribute to the nation's food security.

Today in Amman, Jordan, I participated in the Board of Directors meeting of JIFCO, chaired by H.E. Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Thanibat Al-Akram. Along with fellow board members and the dedicated JIFCO team, we held productive discussions focused on growth of JIFCO alongside strengthening the availability of complex fertilisers to support our farmers and enhance agricultural productivity.

Our collective commitment remains unwavering to ensure a reliable supply of essential fertilisers that empowers farmers and contributes to the nation's food security. Shri Dileep Sanghani Ji, Chairman, IFFCO, was also present during the meeting.

During my ongoing visit to the JIFCO, Jordan, I visited the JIFCO Plant in Eshidiya, Jordan, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the plant's world-class production processes, robust operational systems, and its significant potential for future growth.

The visit also provided an excellent opportunity to review the progress of our upcoming projects and engage in meaningful discussions with the engineering teams on future expansion plans. Their dedication and collaborative spirit reinforce our confidence in achieving the next phase of JIFCO's development while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence, safety, and sustainability.

JIFCO occupies a strategic place in IFFCO's global operations. This, in turn, strengthens IFFCO's commitment to ensuring a dependable supply of quality fertilizers for millions of Indian farmers, contributing to the nation's food security and agricultural prosperity.
