Michael Grove looked solid in his AAA debut:
2 IP
0 H
0 ER
1 BB
2 K
He sat 93-94 on the fastball. The breaking stuff was nasty, which was the case for him in the big leagues.
From 2–1A Kansas football to FBS co-defensive coordinator. 🔥
Entering his fourth year at Eastern Michigan University, Tate Omli continues to climb, now serving as Safeties Coach & recently promoted to Co-Defensive Coordinator. A Brookville, Kansas native and Ell-Saline HS alumni, Omli’s journey started right here.
🏈 Kansas-built path
Multiple sport all-state athlete at Ell-Saline (now an 8 man team)
Player at Butler Community College (2nd Team NJCAA All-American)
Finished playing career at University of Northern Iowa
Defensive Coordinator at Hutchinson Community College (28-3 record, multiple league titles, NJCAA National Championship)
📈 Impact at EMU
Omli’s safeties have been difference-makers, highlighted by Bryce Llewellyn’s All-MAC season (103 tackles, 2 INTs), EMU’s first all-conference DB since 2020. Multiple defenders posted career years under his watch.
🌾 Kansas pipeline
One thing that hasn’t changed, Omli continues to recruit and trust Kansas talent, developing players at every stop along the way.
From small-town Kansas to the FBS, Tate Omli is proof the grind travels.

Manhattan’s Harli Omli capped one of the most decorated seasons in Kansas history—state titles and record times in the 100, 200 and 4x1, and MHS’s best finish in 23 years.
She is your Spring All-Flint Hills Athlete of the Year.

Manhattan senior Harli Omli left it all on the track at Cessna Stadium this weekend, delivering one of the most dominant performances of the 2025 Kansas state meet. In her final high school competition, Omli walked away with three gold medals, one silver, and two new state meet records—a legacy-defining sendoff. Omli captured the 6A 100m title with a time of 11.58. In the 200m, she won gold in 23.99, with her preliminary time of 23.90 establishing a new meet record. In the 400m, Omli added a silver medal, running a 54.50. Omli teamed up with Hanna Pellant, Michelle Jeje, and Sarah Oberreuter to form the fastest 4x100m relay in Kansas that broke the state meet record with a 46.73 in prelims, before winning the final in 46.78.
Her senior best friend and training partner, Hanna Pellant has been one of the top runners in the state the past four years and has dealt with stress injuries to both legs all year. Through injury Pellant was able to be on the record shattering 4x100 team, take 4th in the 100m, and 4th in the 200m. She still wanted to compete her last year of HS and chose the pain, and also ran the 4x400 to help a senior make it to state that has never been before. Harli Omli and Hanna Pellant leave Manhattan HS as multiple time state champions and record-holders. Between the two of them they’ve accomplished 6 state champions, 21 medals, and 3 6A meet records. The best is likely still to come for this duo as Omli heads to Texas Tech to be a Red Raider and Pellant to Ole Miss to be a Rebel. #sportsinkansas
No one is catching @MHS_TF senior and @TexasTechTF commit @HarliOmli 🔥 🔥 🔥
She just ran a blistering time of 11.58 to win the 6A title in the 100. That’s a PR (#6 all time in Kansas) and breaks her teammate’s Hanna Pellant state meet record from last year.
Safe to say @HarliOmli’s decision to compete for @MHS_TF has paid off.
Here’s a fun tidbit I wrote about during her @TexasTechTF signing in November.
Like Coach @KoryCool said, “the rest is history.”
Also from yesterday, Harli Omli (Manhattan) defeated her own 6A State Record in the 200 with a time of 23.90 in the Prelims.
The Indians will be going for even more state records today.
2nd Fastest in KS History: Manhattan’s (6A) 4x100 team of Harli Omli, Sarah Oberrueter, Hanna Pellant, and Michelle Jeje continues to dominate as they shattered their own school record with a time of 47.23. Not only is this the fastest time in the state all classes, it is also the 2nd fastest time in Kansas history 😳 Omli (Texas Tech commit) and Pellant (Ole Miss commit) are two of the fastest girls in Kansas history. They along with Oberrueter won the 4x100 at the state meet last year and adding freshman Jeje look repeat as their time is more than 1.5 seconds above anyone else in the state right now. #sportsinkansas
"We're hoping to get a state championship."
Thanks to @HarliOmli and @hanna_pellant for talking with us on their DI commitments to Texas Tech and Ole Miss!
Two great runners for @MHS_TF.

The wait is over… IT’S TEXAS TECH
I’m incredibly thankful to God for this opportunity and for guiding me on this journey. Big thanks to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for all their support. Looking forward to this next chapter with the Red Raider family! #GunsUp
