THREAD: Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Commitment to Workers’ Welfare in Osun State
Governor Ademola Adeleke has set a new standard for workers' welfare in Osun State. The new minimum wage of ₦75,000 is not just sustainable—it’s transformative. Let’s talk about how this compares to the neglect workers endured under 12 years of APC rule. 👇
Under the APC’s 12-year rule, workers were paid half salaries and were owed massive arrears. It was a period of untold hardship for civil servants and their families. Contrast that with Governor Adeleke’s administration, where workers are paid in full and on time.
Paying workers' salaries isn’t just about fulfilling obligations; it’s an economic strategy. Civil servants now have more purchasing power, boosting the local economy. Market women, food vendors, and small businesses are all benefiting from this increased circulation of funds.
Pensioners are not left out. The increase to ₦25,000 minimum pension is a lifeline for our elderly who have given their years to building this state. This is a sharp contrast to the neglect pensioners faced under the APC, where their needs were sidelined.
Governor Adeleke’s administration also prioritizes contributory pensioners, ensuring no one is left behind. The recent review and payments for pensioners have brought relief to many households. This is true governance with empathy.
It’s hard to imagine any reasonable person wishing for the APC’s return, given their track record of hardship for workers and pensioners. Governor Adeleke’s focus on welfarism has restored dignity to civil servants and retirees alike.
The impact of Governor Adeleke’s leadership is clear: workers are happier, pensioners are supported, and Osun’s economy is growing. This is what true leadership looks like. Imole is working!

After waiving payment for Telecom right of way in return for free connectivity to our schools and health centres. The laying of a broadband fibre optic project worth N16 billion to apply information communication technology in various sectors of the state has commenced.
These pictures from Ikire are heartbreaking. While the Osun State government is working hard to clear the waterways and prevent occurrences such as these, I call on citizens to also be more responsible in our interactions with nature.
