This was one of my favourite and most beautiful moments of this World Cup. When Messi scored that hat-trick, it genuinely felt like he had you speechless and emotional. I mean how can a human being do that at 39? And why and where did he find this drive and competitiveness?

When the realization hits that what you are witnessing is something really really special, almost miraculous, that feeling gets you emotional. So I really love how Scaloni was reflecting the emotions of the fanbase that night.

And later you realize that Messi was doing this despite the health condition of his father. It makes it even more special.
