When it rains in Busia, rubbish blocks drainage, roads flood, children miss school, and mothers queue at clinics.
Waste isn’t the enemy—neglect is. With sorting & recycling, we can build cleaner towns and green jobs for youth.

Menstrual health is not optional it’s a vital part of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.
When young people lead the way in demanding period dignity, access to products, education and safe spaces, we make SRHR truly inclusive.
Let’s normalize the conversation, break the stigma, and ensure no one is left behind period. 🩸

❝Menstruation is linked to 80% of school dropouts and absenteeism especiallyin rural areas. While several schools have initiated solutions, further efforts are necessary. It is key to note that inadequate menstrual management can lead to serious health issues, such as urinary tract infections and pelvic inflammatory diseases, which may escalate to infertility.
~ Dr. @olaro_charles , Director of Curative Services, @MinofHealthUG speaking during the #MHMGBVNationalDailogue24
Unfortunately, some individuals, particularly men, exploit the situation by offering pads to girls in exchange for favors, contributing to gender-based violence. We need effective menstrual management systems to support economic development at the national level.❞
I want to give a huge shoutout to @NexusMediaUg for sharing our efforts @esonga_care .This collaboration exemplifies the power of teamwork and our shared commitment to sustainable community development. Cheers

At the ongoing #ADHDialogue2024, a group of youth champions was recognized for their outstanding effort towards addressing gaps in menstrual health in areas where they come.
One of the champions from Karamoja narrated how she was incited by the discovery that some adolescents in Moroto use cow dung as sanitary material during their period.
This inspired her to advance skills and materials to make reusable sanitary pads, an initiative that deserved recognition at the dialogue on adolescent health.
Pregnant women should take their folic acid tablet daily as prescribed by the health worker. This is important in reducing congenital anomalies in the unborn child. #MOHatWork
