The major route to military top rank is through the NDA, DSSC and SSC and army has not complained they are lacking representation in these ranks from every region.

When it comes to the officer cadre, every region fills up their number and even hustle for more.

But the army's concern is the non-commissioned officers cadre popularly known as recruits. This cadre forms over 95% of the military and this is where the military is lacking personnel from many regions not just South East.

Because of the war theatres all over the country, the military has been heavily engaged, overstretched and underfunded. That's why a lot of youths are finding it difficult to join the service as recruit.
