kaiden!!! exactly a year ago i was failing 7s and 8s, able to play this game on consecutive days for the first time ever... when i learned what kaiden was i figured itd take 5 or so years to reach, but i was able to get so hooked on the game it felt like no time at all. awesome!
i have been hooked on IIDX the last month and am scoreposting / outputting on @mztii0 (last time i sounded like an insane person and almost everything i wrote was unintelligible so i deleted the account)
not exactly the score i was hoping for (consistently mocked in the 130s, nose bled like crazy mid reading section) but i am now a certified N1 passer :D
the road to fluency only begins here, but here's to a 2023 where i actually followed through on my new years resolution, and here's to a fun and productive 2024.
really insane year for japanese, i couldn't be happier about what i've accomplished. long story short, i immersed for a conservatively estimated 1536 hours (46 books, 363 anime episodes, and a TON of youtube and podcasts), and i did 122,812 anki reviews for ~225 hours. (cont)
this all culminated in me taking the JLPT N1 this past december (which i think i comfortably passed), and though that's more of a resume filler than a milestone for me now i'm still very proud of that. more than anything, i'm glad i was able to spend the year doing what i love.
