Today, the 13th of April 2026, the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) formally submitted its Statement of Inputs to Parliament on the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Bill No. 3 (2026). The ZCC, representing 32 member denominations with a reach of at least 3 million citizens, opposes the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Bill No. 3 (2026) because of the potential harm it causes to the nation and the legacy of our current President. The ZCC, acting as a Watchman (Ezekiel 3:17) a role that compels the Church to speak when it sees the nation walking toward harm and after prayerful reflection and stakeholder consultation: Our general recommendations are as follows

1.Withdraw or substantially revise the Bill: The amendments in their current form are constitutionally, morally, and democratically compromised.
2.Establish an Independent Constitution Amendment Commission: Amendments of this nature require a dedicated, independent commission mandated to undertake broad, meaningful consultations rooted in the will of the people, free from the conflict of interest that arises when the institutions advancing the Bill are its direct beneficiaries.
3.If the Bill proceeds in its current form, a national referendum is mandatory: The Bill fundamentally alters the 2013 Constitution and provides for term extensions benefiting current incumbents. This requires direct citizen consent - not parliamentary approval by those who benefit from it.

-Greetings from the table mountain in Cape Town 😊.

-I have been using Uber a lot this side and l have been meeting different drivers but l tell you most of them are foreigners.

-Ive been in the habit of trying to understand them by asking a little bit about who they are and what brought them to SA.

-Met one guy yesterday and immediately discovered l learnt with his brother

-I was so excited l asked if it was ok to video call the brother and show him that l met him and he said it was okay with infact he said let me do it myself.

-Once the video call was on, his brother shouted you are with Uncle Tony,yea and suddenly his mood changed (the Uber driver) and he became a bit uneasy.

-After the call l asked him,what was wrong,he said mudhara l don’t know how l should thank you,you changed my life,he reached for his drawer and he took a diary and said to me open on page 17.

-I saw my pinned tweet in his diary,he went on to explain how did computer science by UZ and how he searched and never managed to get a job which pays more than $250 USD,2 years after graduation.

-Whilst on social media,he saw a tweet of me encouraging people to work hard etc,then he went to my pinned tweet which became his mantra. He came to SA with no single plan until he bumped into an Arab guy who was willing to rent out his Uber for 3500 per week.

-He worked his ass like a mad man banging around 11 000 to 13 000 Rands a week, he made savings and now in 7 months,he has his own Uber. He is now planning on growing his fleet.

-He just said something interesting,when you see someone with nothing don’t assume it’s because they didn’t try, when you see someone settling for something you think it’s low value don’t assume they didn’t try something worthwhile. Sometimes life doesn’t turn out the way we want it to

-He said his girlfriend then used to tell him that he is not looking enough and he is not trying enough expecting much from him bcz she was privileged to get a paying job. He said he just woke up and decided to leave her bcz she assumed that he was not trying, when things were really just not working in his favor.

-2024, don’t assume those with nothing are who they are because they don’t have degrees or because they don’t try. Also remember it’s the simplest of things that can change your life so be open minded. Just because you have a degree, money making mustn’t appear to be a one way lane uri muoffice chete. Be practical.

-When l get tired of people who pass negative comments when l try to encourage others,people like Tinashe are the ones who reminds me that my life struggles are a reminder to someone that one day,you will find your foot and be established.
