Here language defines a big part of local culture. And India is very diverse culture wise. Enforcing one language is same as disregarding local culture.

The issue is people who actively refuse to learn and respect the local culture, even after spending multiple decades in the land.

But people won't spend a few minutes a day learning the local language of the place they live in.

No Kannadiga goes to Delhi demanding Hindi speakers learn Kannada. But go to Punjab, they'll gladly pick up Punjabi to live and work.

Respect is mutual. Language isn't forced—it's embraced.

@Cloon_ey1 Yes, i have faced the same thing in Tamilnadu when i visited for couple of days, and i don't know Tamil. But i stand with them. Local language should be learned and respected if you're staying in that state/region.

@Anilsingh9761 Official language is fine. And i also think national banks should include Hindi, English in addition to whatever local language is of the bank location. But outside of national infrastructure, people should should genuinely try to learn local language

@AS101__ India is made with diversity. Not just hindi. And that chotusa kannada represents that. Learn your history. Just because you have been calling urdu hindi by giving up whatever your local language was, doesn't make others to follow the same.

@abdullah_0mar usually i would support language of the land. if you live in Karnataka you should learn kannada. but not in notional government buildings. SBI should enforce that.
