HAJJAT HADIJAH NAMYALO MONITORS LC II ELECTIONS IN KAMPALA

ONC Manager Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye today monitored the ongoing Local Council II (LC II) elections in Kampala, visiting MTG Gogonya 2 Polling Station in Nsambya to observe the electoral process.

During her visit, Hajjat Namyalo interacted with voters and election officials and observed the voting and tallying processes as residents exercised their democratic right to choose their parish leadership.

Following the completion of voting and tallying, Parish Election Officer Pyoto Rogers declared Lubowa Fred the winner of the LC II Chairperson race for Central Parish, after securing 149 votes.

The LC II elections are an important part of strengthening grassroots governance in Uganda. Parish-level leaders play a vital role in linking communities to the broader local government structure, mobilising residents and contributing to the identification and implementation of priorities that directly affect communities.

For the NRM, strong grassroots leadership remains central to translating government programmes and development initiatives into meaningful impact at community level. Monitoring and participating in the democratic process at this level therefore underscores the importance of ensuring that communities have accountable and responsive leaders.

Hajjat Namyalo’s visit reflects the continued importance of engaging with communities at the grassroots and encouraging peaceful, orderly and participatory elections as Ugandans choose the leaders who will serve them at parish level.

Police Arrest Suspects Over Impersonation of Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo in Online Fraud Scheme

Uganda Police, working jointly with sister security agencies, have arrested more than 10 suspects in connection with an alleged criminal racket involving the impersonation of the Senior Presidential Adviser and Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, on social media.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue into what security agencies believe could be a wider network operating in different parts of the country.

The investigations followed a growing number of complaints from members of the public who reported to the ONC offices that they had been communicating with individuals purporting to be Hajjat Namyalo, particularly through TikTok and other social media platforms.

According to the complaints, unsuspecting members of the public were allegedly asked to send money after being promised financial assistance, business capital, scholarships, employment opportunities and other forms of empowerment purportedly offered through the office of Hajjat Namyalo.

Upon seeking clarification from the ONC, however, the individuals reportedly discovered that they had been communicating with impostors who had no connection to Hajjat Namyalo or the Office of the National Chairman.

The complaints prompted security agencies to commence investigations, leading to a series of arrests as authorities work to establish the full extent of the alleged impersonation and fraud network.

Among those charged is Bautu Collin, 19, a student and resident of Warugolgo Zone, Iganga Municipality.

According to the charge sheet under CRB 461/2026 at Kira Police Division and Case No. 1003/26 before the Resident State Attorney in Kira, Bautu faces charges of personating a public officer contrary to Section 354(1) of the Penal Code Act and obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Section 285 of the Penal Code Act.

Prosecutors allege that on May 4, 2026, at Najjera in Wakiso District, the accused falsely presented himself as Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, purporting to offer financial assistance by virtue of that office.

Commenting on the matter, Hajjat Namyalo strongly distanced herself from the fraudulent accounts and urged members of the public to exercise caution when engaging with individuals claiming to represent her.

“I do not have a TikTok account, and I do not give out money through TikTok or any social media platform,” she said.

She called upon the public to verify information through official ONC communication channels and cautioned against sending money to individuals claiming to act on her behalf or on behalf of the Office of the National Chairman.

Hajjat Namyalo welcomed the ongoing investigations and arrests, noting that security agencies are working to identify and bring to justice individuals involved in the alleged impersonation and fraudulent activities.

“Many more suspects will be arrested. We are working closely with the relevant security agencies to ensure that everyone involved in impersonating me and defrauding innocent Ugandans is brought to justice,” she said.

The Uganda Police has also appealed to members of the public who may have fallen victim to the alleged scam to report to the nearest police station or contact the investigating team. Additional complaints and information from victims could assist investigators in identifying other individuals connected to the alleged network.

The public is further reminded to exercise caution and verify any communication purportedly offering financial assistance, employment, scholarships or access to government programmes in exchange for money.

The Office of the National Chairman reiterates that Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo does not solicit or distribute financial assistance through personal social media accounts, and members of the public should rely only on verified ONC communication channels for official information.

The ONC Manager, Hajjat @ChiefMuzzukulu officiated the finals of a football tournament organised by Nakawa West vendors at Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, Kampala.

Hajjat Namyalo made the remarks on Wednesday evening while presiding over the grand finale of the Nakawa Market Vendors’ Football Tournament at Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Kampala.

Speaking to thousands of vendors, football enthusiasts and local leaders, she encouraged traders to actively embrace government wealth-creation programmes, emphasizing that President Museveni’s renewed mandate presents fresh opportunities for Ugandans to achieve sustainable economic transformation.
