@LKCOYB With the data test, I think Camara is a justifiable purchase. Perhaps not the level of Wharton or Enzo IP, but is still very good, high volume player with extra PnP and defensive awareness. If you're building a midfield around Caicedo, this is an ideal partner

@Blue_Footy I think we're targeting Camara for his abilities IP as a high volume controller. His physicality means Caicedo could bomb forward in phases and vice versa, both of them being 6/8s and both having good engines + ball playing. Brings good rivalry to Barco without blocking him.

@GoldbergCFC Sometimes the best players are the less expensive ones platformed right.

We've seen it with Palmer, Joao Pedro, and now maybe Camara. Seems to have traits that'll fit nicely with the group, and can form a healthy rivalry with Barco.

@CFCDaily I already like Palestra, but I'm worried his intense style will lead to niggling injuries if not properly manged. Kante/Mount come to mind. Loved and overused by all their coaches, no wonder their bodies started breaking down later. So I'd hope we're careful here

- Xabi ball is adaptable
- context required for his current statistics
- can go up levels under Xabi coaching
- Lavia, Barco, Caicedo all good, if not elite

@ExpectedChelsea I think it's the reason we're targeting Scott. The bet seems to be coaching him under Xabi to more competitive level IP, perhaps rivalling your Enzo's or Whartons. Again, it's a bet on his potential as primary ball handler. It helps Lavia Barco and Caicedo are all quite good too

@Coll3tte I know there are small concerns of Scott IP, but I think he has potential to be coached to a higher level especially under Xabi, perhaps not Wharton/Enzo level but we probs don't demand that when Caicedo Barco and Lavia are all good IP too and can ease that burden.

@NewsJeffJ1 It's that primary ball handler role I'm intrigued about for Scott. Last year we got JP as LF/10/SS and found he's a fantastic 9, so now instead of getting Wharton with concerns OOP/physicality, why not coach Scott to a similar level (under Xabi, c'mon) he has potential anyways

It feels like last year, when we signed JP as our LF/SS/10 and not necessarily outright 9. Scott has all the right attributes OOP and is good IP too, but can he handle or adapt himself at least comparably to the level of peers (Wharton, Enzo, Bruno etc) if given the chance?

@LKCOYB On another note, if Scott is Alonso's top choice as the Enzo replacement, how does that change the way the project rn? We may have time for only one CM signing 🤷🏾‍♂️ with last night's lineup it seemed he has a flexible philosophy, not as dependent on CMs as Maresca was on wingers.
