To our international followers: you may have noticed a slight change in our posts on the last few days, so we decided to come here and explain to you what is happening.

Brazil is going through a very difficult and delicate time in our politics. We are headed to the second round of our presidential elections, with current president Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, competing for the position.

Now some of you may or may not remember, but Jair Bolsonaro was our president during the Covid-19 pandemic, when Brazil registered over 700,000 deaths due to Jair Bolsonaro’s disbelief in the virus and, more importantly, his disbelief in the vaccine. He delayed the purchase of the vaccines, encouraged people to disobey the lockdowns and that led the country to devastating results.

The Bolsonaro family is also very well known in Brazil for being far-right politicians who support the military dictatorship that happened in 1964 in Brazil. Their ideology and values align with president Donald Trump and the United States far-right interests, and they also call themselves Trump’s allies in Brazil.

They went as far as calling out for Trump’s intervention in our country and our elections.

That is exactly why we decided to use our account to bring attention and awareness to the situation Brazil is facing and we encourage you to help us spread information and support us however you can.

We have seen the rise of the far-right all around the world and we can’t let them take over our country.
