2048 now introduces a 3rd login option split into two modes:

Pay-per-Move (classic tx popup + user signing each move) and Advanced Custom Relay (use your own external wallet to handle fees, for advanced users only). You can still log in via Privy or let the game cover your fees.

Interesting fact:

This onchain 2048 game is currently the only dApp on @base that actively interacts with the @coinbase spend-permission contract every ~2 seconds, matching the chain’s block time.

That means every move in the game is synchronized with live block production, making it a fully onchain, real-time experience.

Spend permissions have now been added to the 2048 game. This allows players to play directly on @baseapp without needing to approve a transaction popup for every move.

Players only need to approve the spend permission once at the beginning of the game. After that, all transactions are handled automatically in the background on the @base chain, similar to how it works with the @privy_io login method.

This greatly improves the user experience, making gameplay smoother, faster, and free from constant interruptions.

Over 30 players have already joined, generating more than 12,500+ transactions so far.
