Do you know someone with the lived experience of thoracic malignancy (a patient, survivor, or caregiver) who may be interested in being a Patient Advocate in Research?
If so, then BTOG has released the first of three webcasts about the role of patient advocates in research. Please do circulate and share the link to the webcast.

This first BTOG Webcast includes an introduction from @pompili_cecilia and then Allan Hackshaw looks at what training and support a patient advocate could be offered when they take part in the development of research proposals. The webcast concludes with a “fireside chat” with Sally Hall who is an established patient advocate. The role of a patient advocate in research is often referred to as PPI - PPI stands for Patient and Public Involvement.
The second webcast will be released in August/September and will be Research Essentials for Patient Advocates.

Absolutely my favourite ‘grass roots’ conference…. Networking, discussing ideas, pondering trials which need to be done and how to get there, and embedding practice. Always the highlight of my year!
We just had the biggest & best BTOG

All sessions also available on demand on our website for attendees (and for all other BTOG members in 3 months)

@Tony_Calles@BTOGORG BTOG is 100% why I’m a lung oncologist! I came in 2017, approaching my final year of training, and as @tnewsomdavis Registrar. Not missed one since!
I found my tribe in the bar at The Clayton, Dublin! Kind, collaborative & all the other positive buzz words you can think of!
I always enjoy listening to Sarah Blagden speak. Sarah was my academic supervisor when I first arrived at Imperial as an ST3, before her departure for Oxford. She was also the ‘external’ on my consultant interview panel ❤️ @BTOGORG#BTOG26
Such an important ‘string’ to the @BTOG ‘bow’. Our patients are the reason we do what we do and the reason we are here to collaborate, innovate and advance the agenda!
