“We are building more than a register. We are building a system that ensures no vulnerable household is invisible, no intervention is misdirected, and no Nigerian is left behind.”
Dr. Funmilola Olotu, National Coordinator of NASSCO, setting the tone for strategic alignment and stronger grassroots coordination during her Welcome Address at the High-Level Stakeholder Engagement with Local Government Chairmen.
Her remarks emphasized that effective social protection is not driven by systems alone, but by leadership, collaboration, and sustained implementation at the community level where impact is directly felt.
With over 20 million households and more than 77 million individuals captured in the National Social Register, the engagement further strengthened collective commitment towards advancing the ongoing NSR-NIN integration exercise and improving inclusive social protection delivery across Nigeria.

The Stakeholder Engagement placed strong attention on the responsibilities that now sit with Local Governments as implementation of the National Social Register and ongoing NIN integration exercise continues nationwide.
The discussions reflected a shared understanding that credible social protection depends heavily on grassroots coordination, active community mobilization, functional local structures, and stronger institutional collaboration across all levels.
Clear commitments were made. The next priority is sustained implementation.

A name on a list isn’t enough, everyone in the NSR deserves a unique, verifiable identity. That’s why NASSCO, NIMC, and SOCUs are driving step-down trainings across the country, equipping facilitators and enumerators to seamlessly integrate NIN with the NSR.
