And these are good people who are doing their best that I’m talking about. The malevolent types that keep barking about “science says masks are pointless” whilst ignoring all the science that shows the opposite are lost causes. We need clearer messaging, desperately.

I really wish the gov would mandate masks (and vax boosters) again. I know so many who don’t mask because they think the lack of mandate means that there mustn’t be much danger of infection anymore. They trust that the gov will make the necessary rules.

Plenty of folks still don’t understand that masks mostly suppress the exhaled virus from an infected person, rather than shielding the wearer from infected air. It’s way more effective to have everyone mask in case THEY’RE infected, rather than just have the vulnerable mask up.

@McKenzie_Ben @cornwankies No kid I’ve spent time with has been bothered by their teachers wearing masks. The bigger issue would be that masks protect the others rather than the wearer, so I require students to be masked in my home (but I moved back to online teaching back in March or so).
