Built a Pomodoro app in Flutter! π β±οΈ
Why?
1οΈβ£ Refresh skills for bigger project
2οΈβ£ Avoid ads & data tracking in free apps
Two birds, one stone! π―

What apps have you built to solve personal pain points? #FlutterDev#SideProject
My day job isn't what I thought I'd be doing, but it does keep me busy enough that I don't stay on top of my (own) dev stuff. Woke up today to a bunch of security alerts, so now I'm revisiting and updating a bunch of my old, mostly neglected, #GitHub repos π«£
I had some "agile" training last week, I remember training teams on this before, in fact I had some thoughts; https://t.co/D9FIKn8CZW but why does it still feel like we need more training. Big business just doesn't get "agile" or maybe agile just doesn't work in a big business.
@s4rah_dev Your list, lobster down, I agree fully!
I also have no idea why people get so excited about cars, any car.
It's a metal box with wheels people, they basically all do the same, why do you spend so much time salivating over a badge?
@s4rah_dev I have no skills with keeping plant life awake.
I had a plant, it started dying, I tried to revive it, it looked worse. I threw it in the garden last summer, like literally just threw it, and the thing grew just to spite me.
Therefore I realised, this is not a hobby for me.
Every now and then, I have a need to use #flutter for a small build, I don't use it often enough to keep it up to date, so when I do set out on a build, I spend at least the first evening just getting to the new working state. This evening is one of those evenings...

Several days later (though to be fair I have only touched the code on 3 occasions since the last tweet), I'm still fighting with flutter.
Well, remaining fair, it is now a different fight, but ultimately I still haven't built the thing I started nearly 10 days ago...

@post_polar_ I don't know how there are still people out there willing to give new tokens a chance. Most of the normies I know don't trust any crypto at all as a result of the bad press, I'm almost jealous that scammers can so easily find so many people that are willing to give them money π«£

I think you will enjoy the challenge, maybe you don't care about the Xmas tree, but the challenges are cool.
I don't have the time this year so I won't be doing it.
But it is a nice way to flex your logical mind
@RoniHussain9 It is a coding challenge, you are given a different problem each day in the month of December, it is up to you what language(s) you use, they get a little harder each day. I only did it once before, and only made it about half way through the month before they got too hard for me

@s4rah_dev As a sometimes user & previous admin of a company slack account, I'd call the users of slack, unlucky. Because it's awful!
Although tbh, I don't like any of the IM type apps, but if I had to pick one, I'd go for Teams just because it benefits from deep integration into MS stuff
