Oh and I forgot to share this: The ending credit of Nuruk. I took a picture but it is kinda blurry, but I saw someone posted this. I noticed several familiar names: Go Hyunjung (The Mantis?), Kim Bora, Yun Jongsuk, Lee Jaejun, Lee Jumyoung, Lee Juseung (LFIS members? 😭)

Twenty four GV sessions.
and some others during BIFAN, UMFF, and SIFF.

A total of 30+ GV sessions—30 hours and Dongyoon has never been absent even in one session. Such a rare occurrence which, I believe, will be hard to happen again in the future 🥹

Overall, Nuruk is good and satisfying for a debut work. Dongyoon repeatedly mentioned that Nuruk represents himself and values he is holding on. Therefore, watching Nuruk is like going through Dongyoon’s mind and witnessing his charm in a form of creative work. Nuruk 🫶🏻🌷❤️

I think, the value of Nuruk has been deeply ingrained in Daseul’s life, so the visible object of makgeolli/nuruk isn’t a big deal anymore. I interpret this like a faith we are all holding. Although the faith itself isn’t visible, we can still feel it and we believe in it.

a happy ending for Daseul. The last scene is kinda mirroring one of the scene in the beginning when Daseul was still obsessed with the makgeolli, but in a lighter way where, I think, Daseul has more freedom and not stuck in the object of Nuruk.

Because I have read some reviews of the movie beforehand, I can follow the movie quite well although I don’t understand exactly what they are saying. I think Dongyoon also uses flashback method in some parts because we can see how the scenes look repeated but it actually reveals

The 1st scene of Nuruk is quite impressive. It starts with a black screen w/Dasul’s shaking voice. It reminds me of PBME—the man can only see but can’t hear anything. In the 1st scene of Nuruk, we can only hear the voice but can’t see anything. I wonder if it’s intentional?
