Apologies for straying off topic but the first House Martins and Swallows are now arriving back & Suffolk is bone dry. If you have an open area create a mud splat and keep it moist until we have rain if you can. Here is a big splat in Woolpit! @SuffolkBirdGrp@ukhousemartins
The dawn chorus is beautiful, and worth getting up early for. But listening to birdsong can be beneficial at any time of day β it can help you to de-stress, and is a good way to connect with nature.
Here's a quick guide to ten birdsongs, with sound!

It's wonderful you are caring for this little one, but hedgehogs don't thrive on a diet of slugs. Slugs carry lungworm, deadly for all mammals, including hedgehogs, and are only eaten by hogs already dying of starvation, just to stop the pain.
Every bit of research bears this out - even the 50 year old flawed stuff!
This misinformation defies all logic - it's that deeply engrained: we all know hedgehogs are dying of starvation, but they'd hardly be doing that if they really did eat slugs, as there's no shortage!π
